Changes Proposed to Approved Creek Road Residential Project

A revised development application has been submitted for 1912 Creek Road, Cannon Hill, modifying previously approved plans for the site. The amended proposal, known as “East Village,” seeks to deliver 137 dwelling units across three buildings with a maximum height of eight storeys.

The new submission, prepared by architecture firm Bureau Proberts, maintains the mixed-use nature of the previously approved development while adjusting the building design and unit configuration. The updated plans include retail tenancies at ground level connected by internal pedestrian pathways.

According to the application documents, the proposed development incorporates landscaped rooftops linking the buildings, with facilities including swimming pools, lounge areas, a gymnasium, and dining spaces. The plans detail parking provisions for 315 vehicles, comprising 245 residential spaces, 70 retail spaces, and 20 visitor parking spots.

“The amended proposal retains ground floor activation through retail tenancies and pedestrian connections between the residential buildings. These walkways are designed to provide access throughout the complex,” planners stated.

“Building on an existing approved Development Application, additional shaping and articulation has provided further definition to the building form. Carefully placed relief in the form assists to reduce the bulk and scale, along with the proposed significant drop in overall height. This will assist to integrate the building in its suburban context. The building form has also been pulled apart to increase the connection from the boulevard to the existing park behind.”
