A 13,609-square-metre industrial facility in Murarrie combining logistics, training, sales and customer facilities has become the first industrial site in Australia to receive Platinum WELL Core Certification.
Daikin Park Brisbane received the highest level of WELL Core Certification from the International WELL Building Institute under WELL v2, a performance-based building standard focused on how buildings affect the health and wellbeing of occupants.
The assessment covered air, water, light, nourishment, movement, thermal comfort, sound, materials, mind and community.

The Murarrie facility serves Daikin’s Queensland operations as a logistics hub for finished goods and spare parts, with the Manhattan Warehouse Management System supporting fulfilment and dispatch operations.
Beyond its logistics functions, the site contains a Daikin Trade Centre, training academy, showroom and the company’s Queensland sales office. It is one of four Daikin Park locations, with a fifth due to open in Western Australia later this year.
Daikin Australia general manager of SCM and IT Michael Trad described the facility as combining operational requirements with attention to employee health and wellbeing. His comments also pointed to the use of people-centred design within an industrial setting.
Murarrie Workplace Features Assessed
Physical features contributing to the certification include six electric vehicle charging stations, eight low-emission vehicle parking spaces, 380 indoor plants and rainwater harvesting tanks with a combined capacity of 40,000 litres.
The building also incorporates solar-powered hot water and Daikin’s Heat Recovery Variable Refrigerant Volume air-conditioning system. Other measures identified at the site include enhanced indoor air quality provisions, increased outdoor air supply and natural greenery.
Daikin Park Brisbane underwent third-party performance testing followed by a final evaluation to confirm that it met the requirements for WELL Core Platinum certification.
International WELL Building Institute senior vice president and head of Asia Pacific Jack Noonan described the certification as part of increasing attention to health and wellbeing in the design and operation of industrial workplaces.

The facility also holds a 6 Star Green Star Design & As Built rating from the Green Building Council of Australia.
