Minister for Police and Minister for Corrective Services the Honourable Mark Ryan MP today joined Commissioner Katarina Carroll in congratulating the latest round of police recruits to graduate and join the Queensland Police Service.
In a graduation ceremony held this morning in Townsville, 55 police recruits officially celebrated the completion of their training and will now start their policing careers as First Year Constables (FYCs).
The new First Year Constables will be stationed across Central, North and Far North Queensland
Commissioner Carroll said the latest round of First Year Constables came from diverse backgrounds, bringing new perspectives to the Service.
“These FYCs have joined us from local areas such as Atherton and Townsville, while others are from across the globe including New Zealand, South Africa and the United Kingdom,” Commissioner Carroll said.
“Some have had their hearts set on becoming police officers all their lives, while others have previous career experience in industries including education,
