Police have charged three girls following the armed robbery of a service station at Meadowbrook last night.
It will be alleged that around 10.30pm, five girls wearing surgical gloves entered the store on Logandowns Drive, where three of the girls removed food and drinks from the shelves, sat down and began consuming the items, while the other two left the store and waited out front.
A 54-year-old female employee approached the three girls and requested that they attend the front-counter to pay for the items.
The three girls allegedly approached the attendant and a verbal altercation ensued, before a second attendant – a 51-year-old woman – approached the trio.
Two of the girls then allegedly produced a knife each and the three girl’s made threats to the attendants.
The attendants retreated behind the counter, before the three girls stole more food items and damaged the front glass doors before leaving
