Police have released vision as part of an appeal for public assistance to identify two men they wish to speak with in relation to the assault of a man and woman at Burleigh Heads last month.
Around 10.00pm on Thursday October 4, a 63-year-old Burleigh Heads man and 60-year-old Burleigh Heads woman were walking home along the footpath at Goodwin Terrace, when a man – who was not known to the pair – approached the woman and punched her repeatedly.
The 63-year-old man tried to intervene and was then assaulted himself before the man fled the scene on foot.
The 60-year-old woman suffered a broken ankle and bruising to her face and head while the 63-year-old man suffered broken ribs and a collapsed lung.
Both were transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
