Drug operation closure, The Gemfields

Detectives from Emerald Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) have charged a total of six people with 80 offences following the closure of a six-month drug operation.
Officers launched Operation Quebec Shephard in The Gemfields area which targeted the supply of ice and fentanyl and culminated in police raiding eleven properties today.
Emerald detectives were assisted in the operation by the Woorabinda CPIU, Blackwater CIB, Emerald station, Ankie Station, Capella Station, Springsure Station Major Organised Crime Squad (rural), Rockhampton Dog Squad and the Capricornia Tactical Crime Squad.
So far, six people have been charged with a range of drug offences, some of which include producing, supplying and possessing dangerous drugs, and the possession of tainted property.
A46-year-old Gemfield man was arrested today and charged with drug trafficking (ice). He has been denied police bail and is due to appear in the Emerald Magistrates Court tomorrow.
A 33-year-old Gemfield woman located at the same address was also arrested.
