Drugs intercepted in mail centre operation, Townsville

A coordinated operation examining mail being processed through the postal service in North Queensland has resulted in the seizure of drugs with a street value of over $200,000.
As part of ongoing Operation Detect, which is in partnership with the Australian Border Force and Australia Post, officers from the Queensland Police Service seized articles containing approximately 85 grams of cocaine and one thousand prescription tablets during a Townsville mail centre facility examination on August 30.
From January 1 to date, 86 articles have been seized in Townsville through the operation, the various drugs seized have a combined street value of over $200,000.
The seizures have included cocaine, methylamphetamine, MDMA crystal, heroin, cannabis and cannabis products, opiate-based prescription medication and restricted drugs including Viagra, steroids, SARMS and peptide tablets.
