As part of ongoing efforts to identify and disrupt habitual OMCG consorting activities, members of State Crime Command’s Taskforce Maxima Gold Coast have charged a 22-year-old Main Beach man.
The man was charged yesterday afternoon and is due to appear in Southport Watchhouse this morning. He has been charged with breach of bail and one count of habitual consorting.
It is alleged the man, a Bandidos prospect had been consorting with several members of the gang. In addition, it is alleged he has breached conditional bail (for offences including going armed in public).
“This is one of many of these charges we expect to make in the near future and is part of our commitment to seek out those who continue to consort to try and develop their criminal networks and maintain an OMCG presence in our community,” Detective Inspector Stephen Blanchfield of the Organised Crime Gangs Group said.
