Logan police issue reminder about the relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions

With the further easing of Chief Health Officer restrictions from midnight tonight (11:59PM, Friday 15 May), Logan District Police will be working hard to assist the community in ensuring the new directives are met.
Police officers in the area will ensure local businesses, restaurants and licensed premises adhere to the limits on patron numbers and ensure social distancing requirements are met throughout the weekend.
Chief Superintendent Brian Swan said: “We are aware of some confusion in the community about the timing of the latest relaxation measures. The new measures commence from 11.59pm on Friday night, 15 May 2020.”
“In reality that means Saturday is the day we will see the changes many of us are looking forward to,” Chief Superintendent Swan said.
In addition to having a visible presence in places of business and public space, Chief Superintendent Swan said police would also be highly active on roadways between Logan City and the Scenic
