A 64-year-old Calliope man has been charged this evening for allegedly murdering two people in Calliope.
Police were called to the Stowe Road complex around 5pm yesterday (December 6) when a 63-year-old man was located outside his caravan with significant head injuries.
The man was transported to Gladstone Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Investigations by police lead them to a nearby caravan where the body of a 60-year-old woman was located inside with significant injuries.
A police Investigation Centre has been established at the Gladstone Police Station with detectives from the Homicide Investigation Unit to assist local detectives.
All parties were known to each other.
A 64-year-old man was taken into custody overnight and has since been charged with two counts of murder and he will appear in the Gladstone Magistrates Court on Monday December 10.
