Officers and staff members recognised at awards and honours ceremony

On Friday July 20, Commissioner Ian Stewart and Jessica Pugh member for Mount Ommaney, congratulated officers and staff members from various Queensland Police Service (QPS) commands who received medals, certificates and awards at a ceremony held at Police Headquarters today.
The ceremony saw the Queensland Police Service Medal presented to one officer and four staff members.
The Queensland Police Service Medal is an award approved by the Commissioner in recognition of diligent and ethical service by QPS employees after 10 years of full-time qualifying service.
The Queensland Police Service Medal Clasp is awarded to officers and staff upon completion of an extra five years of service. Commissioner Ian Stewart presented two 40 years of service clasps to Inspector Barry Day and Senior Sergeant Mitch McGhie.
A further 27 clasps were presented ranging from 15 years to 35 years.
