Police bust alleged drug trafficking syndicate in Townsville

Police have charged five people and seized drugs, cash and weapons as part of an operation targeting a drug trafficking syndicate in North Queensland.
Detectives from the Major & Organised Crime Squad based in Townsville arrested two women on Sunday afternoon as part of Operation Quebec Panama.
The women were arrested in a cafe car park at Mutarnee around 3pm where officers allegedly located a large quantity of ice and more than $15,000 in cash in a vehicle.
Detectives subsequently executed search warrants at addresses in Ingham and Townsville where they allegedly seized a quantity of ice, cannabis, drug utensils and a set of knuckledusters.
A 53-year-old Ingham woman was charged with five offences including possessing, supplying and trafficking dangerous drugs as well as possessing property obtained from trafficking drugs.
