Detectives attached to Townville’s Major and Organised Crime Squad (MOCS) acting on information from the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission have charged a man and woman after the discovery of two hydroponic cannabis operations at an Alligator Creek property.
A search warrant was executed on Sunday at an Apple Flat Road address where a 68-year-old man and 75-year-old woman were arrested as a result.
The pair have each been charged with one count each of produce a dangerous drug, possess a dangerous drug and possess things used in connection with the production of a dangerous drug.
The man and woman will appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on August 20.
Detective Inspector Michael Dowie of State Crime Command’s Drug and Serious Crime Group said this is an example of how QRIC in coordination with the QRCS and its regional partners work to stop crime in the community.
