Gold Coast police would like to remind motorists of upcoming road closures due to the 2019 Blues on Broadbeach music festival.
The event will be held over four days, from Thursday May 16 to Sunday May 19, with more than 170,000 spectators expected to attend this year’s event.
Police have been working with event organisers and stakeholders to ensure the music festival is conducted safely and with minimum disruption to traffic.
Motorists are advised that travelling anywhere near the Broadbeach CBD during this event may results in delays due to the diversions that will be in place.
Major Events Group Inspector Mat Rosevear said police will be present during the four-day event.
“Officers will be out and about to ensure everyone is having a safe and enjoyable time and that there are only minimal disruptions to businesses and local residents.”
Police will also be monitoring and addressing any antisocial behaviour, particularly in regard to liquor offences.
