Police are investigating a serious traffic crash that occurred at Waterford early this morning.
Initial investigations indicate at about 3.50am, a 29-year-old Bethania woman was struck by a car on Albert Street between Logan River Bridge and Nerang Street.
The woman sustained critical injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the vehicle was not physically injured.
All eastbound traffic is being diverted onto Loganlea Road.
Police are appealing to any members of the public who witnessed the incident or have relevant dash-cam footage to contact police.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
