Detectives investigating the 1985 murder of Richard Campbell at his Tarragindi home continue their appeal for public assistance in the hope that vital information will be received, in particular about a home delivery soft drink truck seen in the area at the time.
As part of a protracted investigation and following last week’s public appeal, investigators from Homicide Group’s Cold Case Investigation Team are reviewing witness information as well as examining new information received.
Richard Campbell was 85 at the time when, on the morning of June 13, 1985, he was found deceased with fatal head wounds inside his Pope Street home after ambulance attended following a triple call from an anonymous man.
Investigators believe Richard’s death may be related to a robbery as his house was found ransacked and police believe a sum of money was stolen.
