Update: Police officer injured, Yarrabilba

Police have charged an 18-year-old man with attempted murder after a police officer was injured following an attempted traffic intercept at Yarrabilba early this morning.
It is alleged the incident occurred at about 2.40am on Yarrabilba Road when the officer exited his vehicle and directed the car to stop in order to speak to the driver.
It is further alleged the vehicle drove in the direction of the officer, failed to stop, then struck the officer on the leg and, as a result, the officer fired his service firearm.
The officer, a 37-year-old constable, was transported to the Logan Hospital for treatment of a minor leg injury.
The vehicle was located nearby where it is alleged the vehicle collided with a police vehicle and failed to stop after a tyre deflation was deployed.
The man was taken into custody a short time later whilst a second man who fled the scene on foot remains outstanding.
