Woman seriously assaulted during violent home burglary, Greenbank

Logan detectives are investigating after a woman was seriously assaulted when two armed men broke into a Greenbank home yesterday morning (May 14).
Police were called to a Thompson Road residence around 6.15am after two men, believed to be armed with knives and a tomahawk, smashed a glass sliding door gaining entry to the house.
Five people were home at the time, a 56-year-old man, two women aged 38 and 36 and two 17-year-old boys.
A 36-year-old woman was violently assaulted sustaining non-life-threatening injuries to her legs, ribs and head.
She was transported to hospital for injuries including a serious laceration to her leg requiring surgery, a cut to her head requiring sutures, a broken tailbone and extensive bruising.
The men fled after the other occupants woke up, taking with them cash, computers and other personal property.
