Police are investigating after a man’s car was stolen during a burglary at Southport this morning.
Around 6.00am, two men in a green Holden Commodore attended an address at Eugaree Street.
The 59-year-old male occupant was woken by a knock at the front door and upon opening it, was confronted by the two men – one of which was known to him – who asked to borrow the man’s phone.
The resident agreed and unlocked the front door, the two men then forced entry and punched the resident in the face, before producing a firearm.
The men then stole the resident’s wallet and car-keys, before one left the scene in the green Holden Commodore and the other left in the man’s vehicle.
The 59-year-old resident suffered bruising to his face and did not require medical attention.
The first man is described as Caucasian, around 185cm tall, with a slim build and short blonde hair.
