Detectives have charged a man after he allegedly drove a stolen car from Coombabah to Nerang and rammed a police vehicle yesterday.
It will be alleged at 5.30pm police observed a Ford Ranger utility with stolen plates in Coombabah. The vehicle has speed off and was tracked by Polair to an underground carpark in Station Street at Nerang. Police have blocked the entrance to the carpark with two police vehicles.
The Ford Ranger has then been driven straight at one of the police vehicles and rammed it. The entry to the carpark has remained blocked and the utility has then reversed back into the car park colliding with three parked cars.
The driver of the utility fled on foot to a hotel room where he has broken a glass panel to gain entry into the room. The man has then stolen some clothes from the hotel room and refused to let a woman
