Police have located a 12-year-old boy, following investigations into an alleged deliberately-lit fire which destroyed bushland and a section of a Logan City Council storage facility at Woodridge yesterday evening.
It will be alleged that around 5pm, a group of juveniles were in bushland off Kingston Road, behind the Woodridge Skate Park, when one boy deliberately-lit a fire.
The fire quickly spread to the nearby storage facility, destroying a fence, two shipping containers and their contents.
Emergency Services attended the scene and the fire was extinguished.
Following subsequent investigations, police located a 12-year-old Slacks Creek boy who will now be dealt with under provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
With Queensland continuing to experience extreme and dangerous fire conditions throughout the state with devastating bushfire being fought in several locations, police are reminding the public of the dangers of lighting fires or committing acts of arson.
