Detectives have charged a 29-year-old man following investigations into the alleged robbery and assault of a 40-year-old woman at Broadbeach on Monday, August 13.
It will be alleged around 7pm, the woman was outside a Surf Parade unit complex with a man when he assaulted her, striking her in the face and attempting to restrain her.
She managed to break free and sought help from the nearby police station.
The woman received treatment for facial injuries sustained in the assault.
A 29-year-old Southport man has been charged with one count each of robbery with violence, assault occasioning bodily harm, disabling in order to commit an indictable offence, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possessing a category M weapon and receiving tainted property.
He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Police investigating the armed robbery of a service station at Sunnybank on August 5, have released an image of a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.
Just before 11pm, a man walked into the Mains Road business armed with a knife and demanded money. He then left the premises on foot with a sum of cash and crossed Mains Road towards Mulgowie Street.
Police believe the man pictured may have witnessed the incident and may hold information important to investigators.
He is described as Caucasian, approximately 180 centimetres tall with a slim build.
Anyone who may recognise the man is asked to contact police.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating after a pillion passenger fell from a motorcycle at Mareeba last night and sustained life-threatening injuries.
The 73-year-old Mount Sheridan man was a passenger on a motorcycle travelling along Ray Road when he came off the bike at around 8.50pm (August 18).
He was transported to hospital with critical head injuries.
The rider of the motorcycle, a 54-year-old Mareeba man was charged by police with failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis and driving under the influence of liquor or a drug. He is due to appear in the Mareeba Magistrates Court on September 3.
Investigations into the incident are continuing with police appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or has any dash cam vision of the incident, to contact them (details below).

A man has been hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was stabbed at Woodridge last night (Saturday, August 18).
Preliminary information indicates the man was walking north along Ewing Road with three other people shortly after 11pm when they passed three men and two children walking in the opposite direction.
A verbal altercation occurred during which time the 37-year-old man was stabbed once in the neck with what was possibly a knife or a bladed weapon.
The three men and two children then fled the scene on foot.
The man was treated at the scene before being transported to hospital in a critical condition.
Multiple police units, including uniform and plain clothes officers, the dog squad and Polair2 saturated the area searching for the men, however they were not located.

Police are investigating a suspicious building fire at an educational facility in Everton Hills this evening.
At about 7.20pm, emergency services were called to the facility on Henderson Road in relation to a building well involved in fire.
Emergency services promptly extinguished the fire preventing further damage.
No one was injured as a result of the incident.
Initial investigations indicate the fire may have been deliberately lit.
Any members of the public who have information in relation to this matter are urged to contact police.

Body worn vision has been released of an incident at Deception Bay last night where a number of officers were lucky to escape serious injury after a police vehicle was rammed by a stolen car.
At about 7.15pm, police observed a stolen white Subaru wagon at an address in Bailey Road.
When officers parked behind the vehicle, the Subaru reversed at speed into the police car.
Officers were forced to take evasive action as the Subaru continued to reverse into the police car three more times causing extensive damage.
Police successfully deployed a tyre deflation device puncturing all four tyres of the Subaru prior to the vehicle fleeing the scene.
The Subaru came to a stop at the intersection of Cork Street and Flinders Parade where the occupants of the vehicle, believed to be two women, fled on foot and were unable to be located.
