Serious traffic incident, Yandina
Police are investigating a serious traffic incident involving a 4WD and a pedestrian last night.
At about 6.20pm, two men were walking along Nambour Connection Road at the northern entry to James Low Bridge when one of the men stepped into the path of southbound traffic and struck by a vehicle towing a trailer.
The a 34-year-old was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane Hospital with serious head injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was not physically injured as a result of the incident.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Dangerous driving charge, Harlaxton
A police officer on a motorcycle had a lucky escape yesterday after a motorist allegedly deliberately swerved into his path at Harlaxton causing the officer to take evasive action to avoid being hit.
The Road Policing officer was conducting patrols along the New England Highway when he attempted to pull over a car at around 12.30pm.
It will be alleged the driver failed to stop for the officer and began moving his vehicle from side to side before abruptly cutting in front of the police motorcycle.
The vehicle sped off and was located crashed into a tree off the highway near Mount Luke.
Police dog squad teams tracked the driver for several hours through bushland and rural properties before losing the track.
Information provided to police led them to Crows Nest where the man was taken into custody at around 5pm.

Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, Deception Bay
Police are investigating after a vehicle rammed a police car at Deception Bay yesterday evening.
At about 7.15pm, police observed a white Subaru wagon being driven suspiciously at an address in Bailey Road.
When police parked behind the vehicle, the Subaru reversed at speed into the police car. Police exited their vehicle prior to the Subaru reversing into the police car three more times causing extensive damage to the police vehicle.
Police successfully deployed a tyre deflation device puncturing all four tyres of the Subaru prior to the vehicle fleeing the scene in a northerly direction.
The Subaru came to a stop at the intersection of Cork Street and Flinders Parade where the occupants of the vehicle then decamped on foot and were unable to be located.
The two officers received minor injuries as a result of the collision with the Subaru.
Investigations are continuing.
