A 19-year-old man is in police custody following a burglary and theft of two cars from a house at Biggera Waters in the early hours of this morning.
Around 1.45am it is alleged a male person entered a South Quay Drive address and made demands, whilst in possession of a knife, resulting in the theft of two vehicles from the address. No one was physically injured during this incident.
Shortly after 2am police received information about one of the stolen vehicles, a 2018 black Ford Mondeo being seen near Oxley Drive at Biggera Waters.
Police attempted to intercept the vehicle which failed to stop.
The vehicle, which had flames coming from underneath, continued to drive before crashing into a fence at a Keebra Park address.
A police officer who attempted to extinguish the blaze, suffered smoke inhalation and was transported to hospital for treatment.

Police have charged a Townsville man yesterday following an investigation by members of the Corrective Services Investigation Unit, State Crime Command.
It is alleged the man, a correctional officer at Townsville Correctional Centre, assaulted a male prisoner on March 29, 2018.
The man sustained non-threatening injuries to his face and body as a result of the incident.
Yesterday, a 44-year-old man was charged with one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm and abuse of office.
He is due to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court on August 21.

A 35-year-old woman has been charged following alleged robberies at Corinda and Lowood this morning.
It will be alleged a 76-year-old woman was getting out of her vehicle at a Corinda shopping complex on Oxley Road around 9.50am when she was confronted by a woman.
The woman allegedly threatened the victim before stealing the keys to her Corolla and driving away.
It will further be alleged around 10.35am a woman produced a knife and threatened staff at a bank on Walters Street in Lowood.
She allegedly stole a sum of cash before fleeing in the stolen Corolla.
Police pursued the vehicle after it was seen travelling at dangerously and at high speed on the Brisbane Valley Highway.
The vehicle struck the tray of a truck whilst weaving through traffic near the Old Toowoomba Road roundabout in Leichardt.
Police arrested the female driver at the scene.
No one was physically injured during the incidents.

Investigations are continuing into a suspicious fire at Chambers Flat on July 27.
At 8.15am, a fire ignited within a Holden Commodore sedan spreading to a nearby Ford Falcon sedan parked in a carport at the rear of a Rossmore Road home.
The flames spread to the premises, rendering the structure and vehicles damaged beyond repair.
The occupants, a man and women, were able to escape the dwelling at the time of the blaze.
They were treated at the scene by paramedics for smoke inhalation.
A crime scene was declared as detectives and forensic officers work to determine the cause of the fire.
Investigations are continuing.

On Friday, August 10, Queensland Police Service with the assistance of Queensland Fire and Emergency Service and State Emergency Service will perform a exercise on the Brisbane River for the World of Drones Congress.
The exercise ‘Tinnie on fire’ will showcase a mock emergency of two fisherman in a dingy that has caught on fire.
With the technology of the QPS drones, members of the public will be able to see the emerging scene out on the river.

Police have charged two teenage boys after the armed robbery of a drive-thru in Thuringowa overnight.
It will be alleged five people entered the High Range Drive business around 9pm and threatened a staff member with a fence paling and metal pole.
Police will further allege the group then left the store with a quantity of alcohol.
Around 12am police located three people at a residence in Heatley.
A 14-year-old Heatley boy has been charged with one count of armed robbery in company and enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence.
A 15-year-old Vincent boy has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of armed robbery in company, enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence and stealing.
Investigations are continuing.
