Police remember Police Dogs Jedi and Jeru

Today, the Queensland Police Service held a Memorial Service for two Police Dogs (PD) who tragically lost their lives during active service.
The monument which is a permanent feature of the Queensland Police Service Academy remembers three Police Dogs that have died during active service. Today’s service acknowledged PD Jedi and Jeru, who will have memorial stones placed alongside PD Waco.
PD Jedi was a one year, nine month old German Shepherd, general purpose police dog teamed with Senior Constable Brett Tome of the Townsville District Dog Squad. Due to a traffic accident that both PD Jedi and Senior Constable Tome were involved in, PD past away in July 2006.

Update – Multiple offences – Gold Coast

A 19-year-old man has been charged and a teenage boy located in relation to the alleged burglary and theft of two cars from a house at Biggera Waters in the early hours of this morning.
It is alleged that around 1.45am a man entered a South Quay Drive address and made demands, whilst in possession of a knife, resulting in the theft of two vehicles from the address.
No one was physically injured during this incident.
One of the stolen vehicles, a 2018 black Ford Mondeo was seen near Oxley Drive at Biggera Waters and allegedly failed to stop for police.
This vehicle and the man were located at a Keebra Park address where a fence was damaged.
Around 9.30am police located the teenage boy, aged 17 years, and the stolen black Mazda 3 at Southport.
