Attempted murder charges, Taringa

A man was charged yesterday following investigations into an alleged stabbing that occurred in Taringa on May 1.
Officers were called to an address on Todd Street around 6.30am and it will be alleged that a man forced his way into the home and during a physical altercation, a 20-year-old was stabbed several times in the neck, hands and upper body.
A woman and two children who were at the residence at the time didn’t suffer any physical injuries.
It is further alleged that the man fled the scene and was located and arrested by police yesterday around 1.30pm.
A 34-year-old man has been charged with one count each of attempted murder, enter dwelling with intent, possession of a knife, unlawful possession of a weapon and two counts of serious assault of police.
He is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

Serious assault, Pioneer

Two men are in custody following a serious assault that occurred earlier this morning in Pioneer.
Officers were called to an address on Joyce Street in Pioneer at 1.30am following reports that a man had been assaulted.
On arrival, a 34-year-old man was located unconscious at the address and he has is expected to be flown to Townsville for treatment of serious head injuries.
Police located two men a short time later and they have been taken into custody.
Investigations continue.

Violent robbery, Inala

Police are investigating a violent robbery incident that occurred at Inala yesterday evening.
At about 11.30pm, a man attended a house in Japonica Street and turned off the power.
When the male occupant of the dwelling went outside to investigate, the man assaulted the occupant by hitting him on the head with a hammer.
The man fled the scene with a quantity of personal items stolen from the scene.
The injured man was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment of head injuries.
Investigations are continuing.

Fatal traffic crash, Fernvale

Police are investigating a two-vehicle fatal traffic crash that occurred at Fernvale yesterday afternoon.
At about 5:27pm, a vehicle travelling on the Brisbane Valley Highway collided with another vehicle resulting in a head-on collision.
The 51-year-old female driver and sole occupant of a vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle was treated at the scene by emergency services and transported to Ipswich Hospital with minor injuries.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
