Police are appealing for public assistance following a number of break-ins and stealing incidents from rural properties in Amamoor Creek over three months this year.
Initial investigations indicate the three properties were targeted between Thursday, March 29 and Thursday, May 3 resulting in thousands of dollars’ worth of power tools, equipment and machinery stolen from dwellings and sheds.
Property stolen includes chainsaws, leaf blowers, all-terrain vehicle (ATV), water pumps, generators and solar equipment.
It is believed the thieves are using bolt cutters or a similar type of tool to cut through locks to gain entry to the properties during both day and night.
Investigations are continuing with the review of CCTV footage, suspect vehicles and the sighting of two people seen trespassing on the properties during this time.
One of the thieves is described as wearing a green balaclava while the other person’s face is covered by white material, similar to a stocking.

A 54-year-old male sergeant from the People Capability Command who was stood down from official duty with the Queensland Police Service on April 7, 2016 will now return to operational duties following the revocation of the stand down.
The officer was the subject of internal discipline proceedings following the finalisation of a drink driving charge before a Magistrates Court.

The Queensland Police Service (QPS) is committed to working with the community to raise awareness and prevent domestic and family violence.
This year, during Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month, QPS members will be participating in the Darkness to Daylight Challenge, May 23-24.
The Darkness to Daylight Challenge is an initiative of Australia’s CEO Challenge that raises awareness and funds for programs to promote awareness and prevent domestic and family violence.
The Challenge consists of an overnight 110km run, with each kilometre symbolising a life lost to domestic and family violence. This can be done as an individual, or as part of a team.
Runners also have the opportunity to participate by joining the final 10km or 3km the following morning at their own pace.
Additionally, for those outside Brisbane, there is a ‘virtual’ option to complete the 110ks in 24 days, by running, walking and jogging.

Detectives from the Roma Child Protection Investigation Unit have charged a man with 97  online child sex offences following a two-month investigation.
Police executed a search warrant at the 31-year-old man’s residence on March 8 where they seized a number of devices allegedly containing child exploitation material.
Forensic analysis has since been conducted on the devices and identified numerous alleged online offences.
The investigation also uncovered information relating to a number of alleged online sex offenders located in the United States and further intelligence submissions have been made to the relevant authorities.
The 97 charges include more than 70 counts of grooming a child under 16 with intent to expose to indecent matter, 15 counts of using a carriage service to solicit child pornography material as well as five counts of possessing child exploitation material and one count of using the internet to procure children under 16 years.

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious traffic crash at Wongwallan this evening involving a truck and two cars.
Preliminary investigations indicate the truck was travelling along Tambourine-Oxenford Road around 5.30pm when it collided with two passing vehicles, pushing one of them off the road.
The truck, which was towing an excavator, then flipped onto its roof.
The driver of the truck, a man aged in his 20s, was transported to hospital with critical injuries.
The occupants of the two other vehicles involved were not seriously injured.
Tambourine-Oxenford Road remains closed at the intersection of Elevation Drive following the crash.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have dash cam vision of a white Isuzu truck with an excavator on a trailer travelling along Tambourine-Oxenford Road prior to the incident to come forward.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
