Three people have been arrested after a vehicle allegedly evaded police and the subsequent discovery of a hydroponic drugs set up in a unit on the Gold Coast in the early hours of this morning.
Around 12.40am police were called to a unit on 28th Avenue at Palm Beach due to a report of man armed with a firearm allegedly attempting to rob the occupants.
The man left in a white Toyota Hiace which was seen by police on the Gold Coast Highway.
The vehicle failed to stop for police and continued to drive eventually stopping at 27th Avenue where a male passenger got out of the vehicle. An officer at the scene took the man into custody without incident. The driver of the vehicle drove away.
A short time later the vehicle was located abandoned in 27th Avenue.

Shooting, Mackay
Detectives have commenced an investigation after a man was shot at a North Mackay house overnight.
Preliminary investigations indicate at 8.20pm persons unknown have attended a Keller Street residence.
A 29-year-old Blacks Beach man, who was inside the house, went outside and was shot once in the leg.
He was transported to the Mackay Base Hospital where he remains in a stable condition with a wound to the right leg above the knee.
Detectives are appealing for anyone with dashcam vision of the area or with further information to contact police.

Armed robbery, Springfield
Detectives have released vision of two men in relation to the robbery of a convenience store at Springfield on November 13.
Just before 11pm, two men entered the Springfield Parkway business and threated staff with an axe and large knife.
The men left a short time later with cash and cigarettes, fleeing in a gold VT Holden Commodore.
The first man is described as Caucasian, 18-19 years old with blonde hair and wearing a red baseball cap, grey hoodie, black work gloves, navy track pants, and red shoes with white soles.
The second man is described as Caucasian, wearing a black long sleeve shirt, motorbike gloves and grey trackpants.
Police are appealing for anyone with further information to come forward.

Armed robbery, Manoora
Detectives are investigating the armed robbery of a fuel station in Cairns on Sunday night.
A woman entered the Reservoir Road business at Manoora just after 8pm and produced a large knife.
She made threats and demanded the attendant hand over money from the till.
The offender fled on foot with a sum of cash through a side gate backing onto Perkins Street.
The woman is described as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance, aged in her late teens to early 20s, around 170cm tall with a medium build.

Defence Act charges, Maryborough
Detectives have charged a man for allegedly misrepresenting himself as a returned serviceman at Maryborough.
A complaint was made to police earlier this year after the man allegedly claimed to have fought in overseas war campaigns without being able to provide proof.
The 51-year-old man also held a position with a returned services leagues club.
The Bauple man has been charged with one count each of falsely representing to be a returned soldier and improper use of service decorations.
He is due to appear in Maryborough Magistrates Court on December 17.

Armed robberies, Beenleigh
Police have released vision of two men as part of their investigation into the armed robbery of a liquor-store at Beenleigh on Saturday November 23.
Shortly before 10pm, two men attended the George Street business, where one of the men approached the 61-year-old male attendant, produced a knife and demanded he open the cash register.
The attendant complied and the man removed a sum of cash from the register, while the other man stole two cartons of beer and four bottles of spirits.
The men fled on foot in the direction of Soudan and Gordon Street.

Update: Sexual assault, Springfield
Police have located a 12-year-old boy who allegedly sexually assaulted a girl on Thursday, November 21.
The 15-year-old girl was travelling on a train between Darra and Toowong when the boy allegedly interfered with the girl’s clothes and touched her inappropriately, despite the girl’s resistance.
A member of the public who witnessed the assault was able to interrupt the boy’s attempts to continue.
The 12-year-old boy will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.

Major drug arrests – Broadbeach Waters
Gold Coast detectives have charged six people over the alleged discovery of illegal drugs and a firearm in Broadbeach Waters on Friday.
Around 7.30am police executed simultaneous search warrants at two houses in Savoy Drive where quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine, MDMA, GHB, restricted prescription drugs, cannabis and $2,590 in cash were seized.
A car arrived at the address during the search where it is alleged cocaine, MDMA, GHB, oxycodone, cannabis, a bolt action rifle, ammunition and $9,965 in cash were also located.
A 33-year-old Broadbeach Waters man has been charged with possess methamphetamine (excess schedule), possess cocaine, possess, MDMA, possess cannabis, possess, GHB, possess weapon (taser), possess property suspected of having been used in connection with a drug offence. He will face Southport Magistrates Court on December 19.

Armed robbery, Victoria Point
Police are investigating the armed robbery of a fast food store on Saturday night at Victoria Point.
Around 11.30pm, November 23, a man has entered a Colburn Avenue store armed with a claw hammer.
The man has demanded cash from a staff member and then fled with a small amount of cash.
It is believed he was wearing blue track pants with white stripes, black shoes and a black hoodie.
Investigators are urging anyone who may recognise the man in this vision or who may have information to contact police.
