Wounding, Heatley

Police have arrested a girl following an alleged stabbing at Heatley today.
Just before midday, police were called to an educational facility where a student allegedly stabbed a teacher.
Police located a 11-year-old girl inside the school grounds armed with a knife.
Officers gave the girl multiple verbal commands prior to deploying a conductive energy device and taken into custody.
A 56-year-old woman suffered a small non-life-threatening wound to the back of her shoulder and was transported to Townsville Hospital as a precaution.
The 11-year-old girl is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

Grievous bodily harm, Helensvale

Police have charged a 20-year-old man over the alleged grievous bodily harm of a man at Helensvale on Friday, October 25.
It is alleged that around 4.30pm, a 43-year-old man was at a bus stop on Milaroo Drive, when he was tackled by two males.
One of the males then allegedly stomped on the victim’s head causing him to lose consciousness.
The following day (Saturday October 26), detectives from Coomera CIB received vision of the alleged assault.
Subsequent investigations lead police to arrest a 20-year-old Pacific Pines man yesterday afternoon (Sunday October 27) and charge him with one count of grievous bodily harm.
He is scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court today.
Detectives are now appealing to anyone who witnessed – or anyone who may have further vision – of the incident to come forward.
Investigations continue.

Double fatal traffic crash, Babinda

Two people have died following a serious traffic crash in Babinda last night.
At 7:30pm, two vehicles collided head-on along the Bruce Highway, approximately two kilometres north of Babinda.
A 16-year-old girl from Bellenden Ker and a 19-year-old man from Wongaling Beach were both pronounced deceased at the scene. It is believed the two were travelling in the same vehicle.
The driver of the second vehicle, a 17-year-old boy from Gulliver was airlifted to Cairns Hospital by Rescue 510. He remains in a serious condition.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
Police are appealing to any member of the community who may have witnessed the crash or has any further information to contact police.

Fatal traffic crash, Burpengary East

Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash involving a motorcycle and a ute in Burpengary East this morning.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the ute was travelling north on the Bruce Highway Eastern Service Road around 11.20am before attempting to turn into a carpark.
A motorbike travelling behind the ute then struck the side of the vehicle before colliding with a post.
The motorcyclist, a 38-year-old Bahrs Scrub man, sustained significant injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The 69-year-old male driver of the vehicle and his female passenger were no seriously injured in the collision.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Wounding investigation, South Brisbane

Detectives investigating the alleged assault a 28-year-old man in South Brisbane earlier this month are appealing for information.
On October 13, just after midnight the 28-year-old man and another man have attempted to enter an apartment building on Cordelia Street. The two men were faced by a group of men and a verbal altercation has occurred.
A short time later the two men got into a car and drove along Cordelia Street. The group of men have followed and allegedly surrounded the car.
Police will allege one of the group members has kicked the rear right door causing significant damage. He has then opened the door and punched one of the men and attempted to pull him from the car.
During the altercation the 28-year-old man sustained a puncture wound to his right leg, from an unknown implement.
The man received medical attention at the Mater Emergency Hospital.

Wilful damage charges, Atherton

Detectives from the Tablelands Criminal Investigation Branch have arrested a man after the alleged wilful damage of vehicles in Atherton last week.
It will be alleged between Friday, October 18 and Friday, October 25 the man damaged several cars by scratching multiple panels whilst they were parked at shopping centres and businesses.
A 24-year-old Herberton man has been charged with 23 counts of wilful damage and will appear at the Mareeba Magistrates Court tomorrow, October 28.

Update 4: Operation Romeo Seville, Townsville

A man and woman have been charged as part of a new police operation launched in Townsville this week targeting criminal activity and property crime.
The 19-year-old man and 17-year-old girl were arrested in Osprey Court, Condon shortly before 10am yesterday.
The man has been charged with 21 offences including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, burglary, stealing, enter premises and receiving tainted property.
He has been refused bailed to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court tomorrow.
The girl has been charged with 22 offences including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, evade police, unlicensed driving, burglary, stealing, enter with intent, receiving tainted property and receiving tainted property.
She has also been refused bail.
Investigations continue with further charges expected.

Unlawful wounding, Miami

Police are appealing for witnesses following an unlawful wounding in Miami overnight.
Around 11.40pm, a group of uninvited people attended a party on Dawn Parade and were refused entry.
The party finished and as people were leaving, a teenage boy was approached on the street by a group of males and was kicked, punched and stabbed with an unknown weapon.
The 17-year-old male attended Robina Hospital with a stab wound to abdomen.
Investigators are urging anyone who was in the vicinity of Dawn Parade and has dash cam or CCTV footage to contact police.

Deprivation of liberty and assault, Raceview

Detectives are investigating after a man and woman were held against their will and seriously assaulted at Ripley early this morning.
Preliminary information suggests sometime between midnight and 3am unknown people gained entry to a Huxam Street address, tied up the 55-year-old man and 39-year-old woman and taped their mouths closed.
The man was then assaulted before the pair were taken to an address in Ripley and released.
The woman called for help and police attended the scene where they located the man with serious injuries. He was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital for further treatment.
Crimes scenes have been established in both Raceview and Ripley.
Investigations are continuing.

Update 3: Operation Romeo Seville, Townsville

A number of people have been arrested overnight and this morning following the establishment of new police operation launched in Townsville this week targeting criminal activity and property crime.
Shortly before 10am, officers attended Osprey Court in Condon where a 19-year-old man and 17-year-old girl were taken into custody without incident.
The pair are currently assisting police with inquiries.
A 27-year-old man was also arrested this morning on an outstanding warrant and also charged with wilful damage and drug offences.
Overnight, a 10-year-old boy was arrested and charged with property crime related offences. He appeared in Townsville Children’s Court and granted bail to reappear on October 30.
Acting Superintendent Damien Crosby said a total of 13 people have now been arrested on more than 60 charges since Operation Romeo Seville started.
