Police are investigating a single vehicle crash which claimed the life of a man at Durong this morning.
At around 10am a passing motorist located a car which had crashed into a tree on Chinchilla Wondai Road.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 37-year-old man from Weranga, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit are continuing.

Fatal traffic crash, Mount Nebo
A man has died in a single vehicle motorcycle crash at Mount Nebo this morning.
At 9.30am, emergency services were called to Mount Nebo Road where a motorcycle had left the road and crashed into a tree.
The male driver, aged in his 20s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Update 1: Appeal for witnesses / dashcam vision: Fatal traffic crash, Windsor
Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam vision after two men died in a hit and run crash which involved seven vehicles at Windsor this morning.
Shortly before midnight a black BMW SUV was travelling northbound on Lutwyche Road when it collided with a northbound moped being ridden by a 32-year-old man from East Brisbane.
The BMW then veered into the southbound lanes and collided with a Subaru sedan driven by a 23-year-old Acacia Ridge man before also colliding with a Jeep.
The BMW then came to rest on its roof in the southbound lanes.
Two people from the BMW fled on foot.
A third person inside the BMW, a 24-year-old Aspley woman, was injured and transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Sadly, both the man on the moped and the driver of the Subaru died at the scene.
Two other people were injured and transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Fatal traffic crash, Windsor
Police are investigating a multi-vehicle, fatal crash which occurred at Windsor overnight.
Just after midnight, emergency services were called to Lutwyche Road following reports four cars and a motorcycle had been involved in a collision.
Two people were declared deceased at the scene. Three other people were taken to hospital for treatment to non-life-threatening injuries.
Lutwyche Road remains closed between Newmarket Road and Le Geyt Street with traffic diversions in place.

Serious traffic crash, Tabragalba
Police are investigating a serious, single vehicle traffic crash which occurred at Tabragalba last night.
At around 7pm, emergency services were called to the intersection of Beaudesert-Beenleigh Road and Beaudesert-Nerang Road following reports of a vehicle rollover.
The 38-year-old female driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was airlifted to the Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

Attempted armed robbery, Redcliffe
Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery that occurred in Redcliffe yesterday afternoon.
Shortly after 3.30pm, a man entered a convenience store on Ashmole Road and produced a knife.
The attendant then fled the store and the man fled the scene on foot.
He was last seen on Dalton Street in Kippa Ring.
No one was injured as a result of the attempted robbery.
Police are seeking public assistance from anyone that was travelling in the Kippa Ring area yesterday afternoon, particularly on Dalton, Oleander or High Streets, that may have dashcam to contact them.

Hit and run, Clontarf
Police are appealing for witnesses following a traffic crash involving a cyclist and a car in Clontarf on Saturday, May 11.
Preliminary investigations indicate a cyclist was riding along the Hornibrook Esplanade at around 8:30am when they were struck by a white Hyundai i30.
The impact of the crash caused the male rider to strike a second vehicle before falling onto a refuge island in front of the Bells Caravan Park.
The white Hyundai i30 then left the scene of the crash.
The 70-year-old rider was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with serious head injuries and spinal fractures, where he remains in a stable condition.
Investigators would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who may have dashcam footage from Hornibrook Esplanade on the morning of May 11 to contact police.

Update: Armed robbery, Rockhampton
Police have charged a 19-year-old man from Kawana following an armed robbery at a licensed premise in Rockhampton last month.
On April 30 at around 12.30am the 19-year-old allegedly entered a hotel on Upper Dawson Road armed with a tyre iron and approached the counter.
He then threatened a bartender with the weapon, demanding money and then fled the business in a silver sedan.
The 19-year-old man has been charged with one count of armed robbery.
He has also been charged with burglary and commit indictable offence and one count of assault occasioning bodily harm while armed, in relation to a home invasion on Waterloo Street on May 7.
He will appear at the Rockhampton Magistrates Court tomorrow, May 16

Break and enter, Gowrie Junction
Police are investigating a break and enter of a shop at Gowrie Junction this morning.
At about 3.30 two men arrived at the shop in a Toyota Hilux utility, which is believed to have been stolen from a Toowoomba business yesterday, then reversed the ute through the doors of the shopfront.
Once inside the two men have damaged an ATM removing the cash box and removed the cash box fleeing the area along Gowrie-Lilvale Road.
The ute was later located burnt out in the Goombungee area.

Search continues for prisoner who absconded from Townsville
Townsville police are continuing their investigations into the current whereabouts of Matthew Campbell who absconded yesterday from the Townsville Correctional Centre.
An immediate investigation was commenced with police conducting searches and carrying out enquiries overnight.
These investigations remain on-going.
The 29-year-old was serving a term of imprisonment in relation to unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
Anyone who has any information in relation to his current whereabouts is urged to contact police.

He is described as Caucasian,167cms tall with a proportionate build, short blonde hair and blue eyes. He has several tattoos some of which are:
