Dangerous driving and unlawful use of a vehicle charges, Mudgeeraba

Police have charged a man over a number of alleged dangerous driving incidents along the M1 on the Gold Coast today.
It will be alleged a 2017 Holden Commodore was seen by a number of motorists who contacted police driving at high speed south on the M1 around 11am.
Officers pulled the vehicle over at Mudgeeraba without incident where it will be alleged the driver became violent before being arrested.
The 25-year-old man was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment to a minor cut before being charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, obstruct police, possess utensils and false plates.
He is expected to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow morning, March 25.

Update – Armed robbery, Beaudesert

A man and teenage boy have been charged following investigations into the alleged robbery of another man at a public toilet block in Beaudesert last Sunday.
It will be alleged around 7.30pm the 26-year-old man entered the amenities block in a park on Beaudesert Nerang Road and Brooklands Drive where he noticed a man inside.
As the victim went in to a cubicle he was approached from behind by another man where it will be alleged he produced a knife and demanded his wallet and phone.
The victim complied and handed over his wallet before it will be further alleged the two men used a rope to tie the cubicle door shut.
The pair fled and the man was able to force his way out of the cubicle and contact police.
He was not injured.

Assault charge, Marsden

Detectives investigating an alleged incident at Marsden this morning which left one man with serious injuries have charged a man and woman.
Around 1.45am the 23-year-old victim was with a group in the carpark of a fast food restaurant on Chambers Flat Road when they became involved in a verbal altercation with another group.
When the man attempted to leave with the group it will be alleged he was struck in the back of the head by a member of the other group with what is believed to be an axe.
As a result of the attack the man sustained two large lacerations to the head causing him to fall onto the ground.
The injured man was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment.
An 18-year-old Beenleigh man has been charged with one count each of common assault and affray. He is expected to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on April 24.

Update: Fatal traffic crash, Ironpot

A nine-year-old girl has died and a six-year-old boy is in a critical condition following a two-vehicle traffic crash at Ironpot near Rockhampton this morning.
Preliminary inquiries indicate around 9.30am, two vehicles collided at the intersection of Artillery and Yeppoon roads.
The first vehicle, a blue Toyota hatchback contained a 40-year-old Emu Park woman, a six-year-old boy and two girls aged nine and ten.
A 33-year-old woman was driving the second vehicle, a grey Toyota hatchback, with two female passengers aged eight and 12.
The occupants of both vehicles were transported to the Rockhampton Base Hospital.
The nine-year-old girl was pronounced deceased in hospital while the six-year-old boy is being airlifted to Queensland’s Children Hospital in Brisbane with life-threatening injuries.
The Forensic Crash Unit investigation is continuing.

Serious traffic crash, Ironpot

Police and emergency services are responding to a serious crash, involving two cars, at the intersection of Artillery Road and Yeppoon Road, Ironpot this morning.
The first vehicle had a woman and two children inside. There was a woman and three children in the second vehicle.
Early information indicates that one vehicle was travelling east on Yeppoon Road when it entered the middle of the intersection, collided with the side of the other car which had been heading north on Artillery Road.
Two children from the second vehicle have been transported to hospital in a critical condition.
Traffic is currently being diverted along Emu Park Road.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Armed robbery, Beaudesert

Police are investigating after a man entered a Beaudesert store last night and threatened staff with a knife.
Around 9.45pm a man entered the Telemon Street business and demanded money from the employees.
They complied, and the man put the cash into a plastic bag before fleeing on foot out the back of the store towards Helen Street.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
The man is described as being Caucasian, aged in his 20s, approximately 175cm tall with a slim build wearing dark clothing including a black beanie, black jeans, black gloves and multi-coloured bandanna.

Two men charged after car park altercation, Upper Coomera

Police are investigating an incident in a car park of a shopping centre on Coomera Grand Drive this afternoon.
Around 3pm it will be alleged a verbal argument occurred between the occupants of a black van and a blue utility.
The driver of the utility allegedly drove away then returned and deliberately collided with the van containing three men.
It will be further alleged, a passenger got out of the van and stabbed the passenger of the utility in the upper arm.
The man who alleged received the stab wound fled the scene before police arrived and later presented at Gold Coast University Hospital.
A second passenger of the van was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital with a foot injury.
A 19-year-old Coomera man has been charged with wounding and going armed so as to cause fear.
A 33-year-old Upper Coomera man was charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle.

Fatal traffic crash, Gadgarra

Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash this morning at Gadgarra.
Around 9.30am two people were travelling on the Gillies Range Road when a tree fell on their vehicle.
The driver, a 38-year-old woman from Bayview Heights, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The passenger, a 26-year-old man from Bayview Heights, was transported by rescue helicopter to Cairns Base hospital in a stable condition.

Wounding charges, Meadowbrook

Police have charged a 23-year-old man after two staff memebrs were allegedly stabbed at Logan Hospital early this morning.
It will be alleged around 5.20am a male patient assaulted a security guard.
While staff were attempting to restrain the man, he allegedly produced a small knife and wounded a another security guard and an orderly.
The male staff members, aged 21 and 51, both sustained stab wounds to their knees.
A 23-year-old Buccan man has been charged with three counts of common assault and two counts of wounding. He will appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday, March 25.

Assault charges, Salisbury

A man has been charged after he allegedly forced entry to a house and assaulted a woman at Salisbury this morning.
It will be alleged at 12.05am a woman was in the loungeroom of a Harlen Road residence when a man has forced open the front door. The woman did not know the man and he has grabbed her by the throat and forced her to sit in a lounge chair. She has yelled for help and other residents have come to her assistance.
The man ran from the house and was seen to get into a vehicle. One of the residents recorded the registration number and a short time later police located a man in the vehicle nearby.
A 41-year-old Salisbury man has been charged with enter dwelling with intent, assault with intent to commit rape and unlawful stalking. He will appear at the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday, March 25.
