Police have charged a man over an alleged suspicious house fire at Ashmore and subsequent stolen boat fire at Clagiraba earlier this month.
Around 8.00am on January 14, police were called to Belah Street at Ashmore, following multiple reports of a building on fire.
The 46-year-old sole male occupant of the residence was not home at the time.
It will be alleged that a person forced entry to the man’s utility before positioning it against the right side of the building and igniting the rear of the vehicle.
The fire quickly spread to the nearby residence, causing significant damage to its interior and destroying the vehicle.
It’s further alleged that the person also stole a tinnie on a boat trailer from the Ashmore address around the time of the fire, then subsequently set it on fire at Henri Robert Drive, Clagiraba, around 7pm.

Armed robbery, Oonoonba
Detectives are investigating after a hotel was robbed in Oonoonba last night.
Intital investigations suggest that a woman entered a bottle shop at the hotel on Abbott Street at 7.30pm and took two cartons of alcohol from a fridge.
The woman then left the business and walked into the carpark, and when she was followed by an employee, two men ran towards the attendant and one was armed with a knife.
The attendant went back inside the bottle shop and the trio were last seen running on Ireland Street.
No one was injured as a result of the incident.
Investigations are continuing.

Robbery with violence, Sunnybank
Police are investigating after a man was assaulted and had his keys and phone stolen in Sunnybank overnight.
A 42-year-old man was in a carpark on Lister Street at 6.50 last night when three men approached him.
They assaulted the man and dragged him from his vehicle before stealing his phone and keys and fled the scene on foot.
The man managed to run to a nearby residence where he was able to contact police.
He was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment of injuries to his face, limbs and torso.
The three men are all described as Caucasian in appearance and were all in their 20s.
Investigations are continuing.

Deprivation of liberty, assault charges – Noosaville
Three people have been charged following investigations into an incident where a man was allegedly held against his will and seriously assaulted at Noosaville yesterday morning.
At around 6.30am on March 10, a 19-year-old man presented to the Noosa Hospital with injuries to his face, arms, legs and feet.
It will be alleged the man had been restrained at a campsite in Bushland on Eenie Creek for two days where he was repeadly assaulted.
Police will further be alleged the trio also threatened the man’s life.
The man managed to escape at approximately 5am and flagged down a member of the public after reaching the roadway where he was transported to hospital.
A 16-year-old girl has been charged with deprivation of liberty and assault occasioning bodily harm.

Fatal traffic crash, Paddington
Forensic Crash Unit officers are investigating after a woman died in a traffic crash in Paddington this afternoon.
Around 3.30pm a motorcyclist was travelling north on Hale Street. As she approached the Caxton Street on ramp she has collided with a vehicle and came off the bike.
The rider, a Bridgeman Downs woman in her 40s, died at the scene.
Investigators are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision on Hale Street around 3.30pm to contact police.

Multiple drug charges, Wide Bay and Sunshine Coast
Police have seized cannabis with an estimated street value of $1.5 million following the closure of an operation targeting the possession of unlawful firearms and production of Cannabis in the Wide Bay Burnett, South Burnett, North Burnett and Sunshine Coast.
Operation Oaky was a joint operation involving officers from Sunshine Coast District Tactical Crime Squad, Wide Bay Burnett Tactical Crime Squad, and State Crime Command’s Major and Organised Crime Squad (Rural).
Over the course of the three day operation officers executed 31 search warrants at locations across Wide Bay Burnett, South Burnett, North Burnett and Sunshine Coast including Curra, Maleny, Imbil, Gin Gin, Connondale, Kenilworth, Brooloo, Nanango and Wonbah.
It will be alleged police located a total of 570 Cannabis plants, with one property at Curra, north of Gympie, found with 325 plants.
Officers also allegedly located quantities of Cannabis, LSD and mushrooms and a shortened shotgun at an address in Connondale.

Armed robbery, Chermside West
Police are searching for a 24-year-old man after a woman and two young children were threatened with a knife and axe before stealing their car at Chermside West yesterday.
At around 4.30pm the man approached the 35-year-old woman who was standing beside the parked car containing her two children on Sambar Close and produced the bladed weapons, demanding the keys.
The woman complied and managed to remove her children from the vehicle before the man fled in the white 2008 Ford Focus hatchback with Queensland registration 775 YNH which remains outstanding.
Detectives have released the image of the 24-year-old man who they believe can assist them with their inquiries into a series of recent incidents in Brisbane and Logan.

Hit and Run, Bribie Island
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an incident where a 69-year-old woman was located with significant injuries at Woorim at Bribie Island on Sunday March 4.
Around 7pm the 69-year-old woman left a North Street business and was walking on a Boyd Street footpath when it is believed she was struck by a bicycle or motorised device near the Edwin Schrag Lookout.
The woman was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for multiple bone fractures and lacerations.
The woman (captured in CCTV) is described as, Caucasian with short grey wavy hair.
She was wearing a light blue t-shirt, dark navy knee-length shorts, white joggers and was carrying an over the shoulder dark coloured hand bag.
Police would like to talk to anyone who may have any information about the incident or those involved.
Investigators are also appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have CCTV footage or vehicle
Appeal: Puppies stolen, Mitchelton
Police are appealing for urgent public assistance in order to reunite a newborn puppy with its mother after it was stolen during a break-in at Mitchelton on Sunday.
On March 3, unknown people entered a residence on Osbourne Road overnight and stole various household items as well as a male and female Maltese-Shitzu cross puppy (pictured).
An investigation immediately commenced with police and the owners holding serious concerns for the welfare of the puppies which were only three weeks old.
One of the pups was recognised by a member of the public on Tuesday night with a person at a fish and chip shop in Virginia and reported it to police yesterday after the story was publicised.

Assault police incident – Woodridge
Police are seeking to locate this man who they believe could assist them with their investigation into the serious assault of two police officers at Woodridge overnight.
Around 7.15pm two police officers attended a North Road unit to speak to the man.
At the residence it is alleged the man became aggressive and began punching both police officers to the head area before fleeing the scene.
One of the officers has sustained a fractured nose, injury to her lower lip and bruising with the second officer sustaining bruising to her face and blurred vision.
Both officers were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment to their injuries and have since been released.
The man police would like to speak to is described as 44 years of age, 185cm tall with an average build, brown/grey hair and brown eyes.
