Man charged with drink driving, South Brisbane

Police arrested a man for drink driving after he nearly collided with a group of diners while riding a motorised scooter in South Brisbane on Australia Day evening.
It will be alleged around 10pm police witnessed the man riding the scooter without a helmet along the Grey Street footpath before he nearly struck a table of patrons outside of a restaurant.
He then allegedly attempted to continue to ride away before nearly falling over as police called for him to stop.
The 23-year-old Caboolture man was arrested and transported to Brisbane City watchhouse where he allegedly returned a BAC of 0.151% – more than three times the legal limit.
He was charged with not wearing a helmet and drink driving and is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on February 19.
Police would like to remind people who choose to ride electronic scooters that drink driving laws apply, as with cars and other vehicles.

Dangerous driving and attempted armed robbery charges, Jamboree Heights

Police have arrested two people after a vehicle allegedly stolen from Gympie yesterday was stopped by police at Jamboree Heights early this morning.
Around 5.40am Saturday, January 26 a vehicle was allegedly stolen from a Red Gum Court home at Urraween.
The vehicle was driven to Brisbane and spotted by Polair2 on Lutwyche Road heading towards the city at around 9.50pm, having been tracked from Sunshine Coast hinterland.
Travelling through the western suburbs the vehicle collided with other vehicles, with Polair2 monitored the vehicle relaying its whereabouts to police on the ground and with the vehicle coming to a stop in Dandenong Road, Jamboree Heights around 10.05pm.
The two occupants of the car, a man and woman, who were believed to be armed with a knife, fled on foot with Polair2 continuing to track them.
Due to damage to the stolen vehicle, the pair attempted to steal another vehicle at 10pm in Jamboree Heights. .

GBH charge, North Rockhampton

Rockhampton detectives have charged a woman with grievous bodily harm after a man was allegedly stabbed at North Rockhampton last night (January 26).
Police will allege at around 7.10pm a man and women were involved in a verbal argument at a Kirkellen Street home when the man was stabbed just below his eye with a knife.
A 61-year-old Berserker man was transported to Rockhampton Hospital for treatment.
The woman fled the scene but was located a short time later by police.
A 42-year-old Berserker woman has been denied police bail and is due to appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Tuesday, January 29.

Shooting incident, Rasmussen

Townsville detectives are investigating after a woman was injured during an incident at Rasmussen last night, Saturday, January 26.
Preliminary information indicates that just before 8pm a shot was fired into a house on Pinnacle Drive, possibly from the street.
Around 8pm a second shot was fired towards the house with the bullet striking a 39-year-old woman in the arm and torso.
The woman, who was at a neighbouring property, had come over to help investigate the first incident.
She was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are appealing for anyone in the local area who noticed anyone or any vehicles acting suspiciously, or who may have CCTV or dashcam vision to contact them.

Update 2: Multiple burglaries, North Brisbane and Sunshine Coast

Detectives investigating multiple burglaries and a police vehicle being rammed in Brisbane’s north this week have arrested a 20-year-old man on the Sunshine Coast following further incidents overnight.
Around 12.20am an Audi sedan was reported stolen from a residence in Amarina Avenue at Mooloolaba.
Police tracked the vehicle on the Bruce Highway before successfully deploying a tyre deflation device at Beerwah.
A 20-year-old man, the subject of a public appeal regarding alleged burglaries at North Lakes and Kallangur on Monday, was arrested after running from the vehicle.
He has been charged with 32 offences including seven counts each of burglary and commit and indictable offence and unlawful use of a motor vehicle, three counts each of enter premises and commit an indictable offence, enter premises with intent to commit an indictable offence, attempted enter premises with intent and one count each of stealing, obstruct police, driving under the influence and wilful damage.

Fatal traffic crash, Cordalba

A man has died following a single vehicle traffic crash near Childers last night.
Preliminary information indicates a car was travelling along Promiseland Road in Cordalba around 6.30pm when it lost control and struck a tree.
The male driver of the vehicle suffered significant injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigations are continuing.

Wounding, Bundaberg

A man is assisting police with inquiries after another man was critically injured during a stabbing at a Bundaberg North residence last night.
It is alleged that around 10.30pm a domestic disturbance occurred between a man and a woman who were both visiting the Station Street address.
The 20-year-old man then allegedly armed himself with a knife and threatened the woman before being confronted by a 38-year-old male resident.
A physical altercation occurred between the pair during which the 38-year-old man received a serious stab wound to the chest.
The 20-year-old man also sustained a number of injuries as a result of the altercation.
Both men were transported to Bundaberg Base Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Investigations are continuing.

Update 2: Fatal traffic crash, Pampas

A Millmerran man, who was involved in a collision on the Gore Highway on December 27, has died from his injuries.
The traffic crash, which involved two trucks travelling south on the Gore Highway at Pampas near Toowoomba, claimed the life of a 7-year-old boy who was a passenger of one of the trucks.
The driver of the other truck, a 62-year-old Millmerran man died this afternoon at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Investigations are continuing.

High range drink driver, Brisbane City

Police have charged a woman with drink driving after she fell over whilst stationary on a moped in the city this afternoon.
It will be alleged at 2.35pm the woman was stationary on Wickham Terrace at the intersection of Upper Edward Street at Spring Hill when she and the bike fell.
Members of the public where concerned she had been drinking and notified police and the ambulance. The woman was treated for a minor craze to her chin.
She was transported to the Brisbane City Police Station where she returned a breath alcohol concentration of .306%.
A 32-year-old West End woman was issued a notice to appear for driving under the influence of liquor and will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on February 11
