Police have charged a man following investigations into an incident at a service station on the Bruce Highway at Maryborough yesterday morning.
It will be alleged around 11.20am, a 55-year-old man was assaulted in the car park of the premises while demands were made for his money.
It will further be alleged a man entered the 55-year-old’s car before members of the public came to the man’s aid and chased him from the vehicle.
The man ran and then allegedly entered a second vehicle however the car owner used their keys to lock him inside until police arrived.
A 22-year-old Torquay man has been charged with one count of robbery with violence and two counts of enter premises with intent.
He will appear in the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court today.

Fatal traffic incident, Rockhampton
A woman has died following a traffic incident in Rockhampton this morning.
Around 9am, a 76-year-old woman was parking her vehicle in the carpark of a leagues club on Cambridge Street when it quickly reversed and collided with three parked cars.
The woman was transported to the Rockhampton Base Hospital for treatment where she died from her injuries tonight.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the incident.

Two charged over drugs, Biggera Waters
Police have charged a man and woman after allegedly locating a quantity of dangerous drugs, weapons and cash at Biggera Waters this morning.
Around 11am, Gold Coast detectives executed a search warrant at a private residence on Cawthray Street, where they allegedly located more than 50 grams of methamphetamine, GHB, two conductive energy weapons, knives, around $10,000 cash and other drug utensils.
A 32-year-old Biggera Waters man has now been charged with two counts each of possessing dangerous drugs and possessing a weapon and one count each of possessing utensils and possessing tainted property.
A 36-year-old Biggera Waters woman has now been charged with two counts each of possessing dangerous drugs and possessing a weapon and one count each of possessing utensils, possessing property suspected of being proceeds of an offence and unlawful possession of a motor vehicle.
Both are scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow, Thursday October 18.

Attempted murder appeal, Mango Hill
Detectives have released vision of a vehicle believed to be linked to an incident last week where a man was stabbed at Mango Hill.
The 46-year-old man attended a property on Lamington Road around 12.20pm on October 10 when his vehicle was prevented from passing by a four wheel drive parked on the driveway with a man standing beside it.
The victim exited his vehicle to speak with the man when a white hatch back pulled up behind, blocking him in. A man approached him from the passenger side of the hatchback armed with a knife.
Investigations indicate at this point the man waved the knife threateningly at the victim.
The victim grabbed a metal pole from the ground to defend himself and the armed man lunged at the victim a number of times, striking him in the torso with the knife. The victim struck the attacker and hit him a number of times,
Operation Velodrome, Logan District
The Logan District Child Protection and Investigation Unit will soon launch ‘Operation Velodrome’, targeting the supply of methamphetamine in the Logan District.
As part of the operation, officers will take appropriate action based on reliable information provided by the general public.
The operation was formulated in response to recent intel which indicates that a growing number of underage children are being exposed to the drug.
The aim of the operation is to reduce the availability of methamphetamine in the area, hopefully breaking the cycle of addiction.
The operation will also seek to identify and help children who are experiencing neglect as a result of parental addiction.
Police urge anyone with information regarding the supply of methamphetamine in the Logan District – or anyone who may suspect a child of using the drug or being the victim of parental neglect – to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Serious crash, Merrimac
Police are investigating a serious crash in Merrimac this afternoon.
Around 2.15pm, a vehicle was travelling east on Gooding drive when it veered off the road and into the back of a car which was parked.
The male driver and sole occupant of the moving vehicle sustained head and internal injuries and was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment.
The parked car contained a sole male occupant in the driver’s seat received minor injuries during the crash.

QPS reigns as blood donation champions
The Queensland Police Service (QPS) has once again claimed victory in the Red Cross Blood Service Queensland Emergency Services Challenge, making the highest overall number of donations.
From June to August, the QPS, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) competed against each other to see who could save the most lives through blood donations.
The QPS surpassed the target of 650 donations, saving 2034 lives with 678 donations. QFES closely followed with 449 donations and the QAS finished third, making 253 donations. Across the three agencies, an impressive 4122 lives were saved.

Assault charge, Pialba
A man has been charged following the alleged assault of a child in Pialba earlier this month.
It will be alleged a man approached a young child at Torquay Road shopping centre shortly after 4pm on Sunday and allegedly assaulted them.
It is further alleged that the man then fled the area and the child was not physically injured as a result of the incident.
Police are appealing for witnesses who may have observed a male person acting suspiciously in the vicinity of the shopping centre on Sunday to contact them.
A 30-year-old Nikenbah man has been charged with one count each of indecent treatment of a child, indecent treatment of a child (procure to commit) and deprivation of liberty.
He appeared in the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court this morning and was remanded in custody to reappear next month.

Armed robbery at house – Woodridge
Logan detectives are investigating an armed robbery at a residence at Railway Parade at Woodridge in the early hours of this morning.
Around 5.10am three men have gained entry to the premises confronting the male resident inside.
An altercation occurred and the 51-year-old male resident sustained a minor wound to his leg.
The offenders searched the house taking money, personal items and two plastic replica firearms before fleeing the premises.
The man did not require medical attention for his wound.

Animal cruelty charges, Pine Mountain
Three people have been charged with animal cruelty following investigations by detectives from the Racing Crime Squad and the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission (QRIC) into the treatment of a thoroughbred mare at a Pine Mountain property.
The 4-year-old retired racehorse was inspected at the property on October 4 following information provided to the QRIC by a member of the public and was found to be severely underweight and neglected.
Ongoing investigations have resulted in thee people, a 20-year woman, a 48-year old man and a 51-year old woman, being issued a Notice To Appear for one count each of animal cruelty under the Animal Care and Protection Act 2001.
They are due to appear Ipswich Magistrates Court on November 6.
One of the men charged is the registered owner of the thoroughbred, and also a licensed stable hand.
