Update: Sudden death, Surfers Paradise

Gold Coast detectives have charged three men with murder following the death of a 19-year-old man in Surfers Paradise on Saturday morning.
Police were called to a View Avenue apartment complex around 3.15am where the body of a 19-year-old Brisbane man was located at the base of the building.
Detectives will allege a group of people from one unit armed with a knife attended another unit where a robbery occurred prior to the man’s death.
Three men, aged 18, 20 and 22, were arrested overnight and all charged with one count of murder and two counts of armed robbery.
The 18-year-old is due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court tomorrow while the other two men are expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow.
Investigations into the incident are continuing.

Update: Fatal traffic incident, Beenleigh

Police are appealing for witnesses following the fatal traffic incident which occurred at Beenleigh on Saturday morning (May 16).
Preliminary inquiries indicate around 10.50am, the man was loading a vehicle onto a utility and trailer, when the rear righthand side was struck by a large Isuzu truck travelling past.
As a result of the impact, the 30-year-old Boronia Heights man suffered critical injuries and died at the scene.
Forensic Crash Unit investigators are appealing for the driver of what is believed to be a white Toyota Corolla seen driving on Sunrise Street, just before 11.00am to contact them.
Anyone who may have dash cam vision from Sunrise Street are urged to come forward.
Investigations are continuing.

Update 2: Man charged over double homicide, Joyner

Detectives are appealing for members of the public to come forward as they continue their investigation into the deaths of a man and woman at Joyner yesterday.
As part of Operation Sierra Tamarind, officers are asking motorists who were travelling between Joyner, the Gold Coast and Ku-ring-gai in New South Wales between Saturday evening and 6.30pm last night to contact police.
A man and woman, both aged 59, were located deceased at the Hazlemere Court home just before 2pm.
Investigators are appealing for information in relation to a white 2020 model RAV4 (similar to the one pictured) seen traveling from the Joyner property around 7pm on Saturday.
Anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage in or around Joyner, in particular on Lake Samsonvale, Forman Road, Forman Park, and Youngs Crossing Road is asked to contact police.

Cash and drugs located, Gaven

Police have seized a large amount of cash and dangerous drugs from a vehicle after it crashed at Gaven on Saturday.
Officers were called to a traffic crash on the Pacific Motorway where a white BMW had lost control southbound and struck a guardrail just before 6.30am.
It will be alleged that prior to police arrival, a woman attended the scene in another vehicle and attempted to assist the male driver remove property from his damaged car.
Police conducted a full search of the belongings which resulted in the discovery of a $48,000 cash as well dangerous drugs including 324 grams of heroin and quantities of methylamphetamine and GBL. The estimated street value of the heroin is $120,000.
Officers also located phones and multiple sets of storage shed keys.
Both vehicles were seized and the 34-year-old woman was detained and issued with an Notice to Appear for drug driving and possessing a utensil.

Appeal for witnesses – Kinkuna Beach traffic crash

Police from the Forensic Crash Unit are appealing for witnesses following a single vehicle rollover on Kinkuna Beach yesterday (Sunday, May 17).
Preliminary information suggests a 2002 silver Toyota Landcruiser 4WD was travelling along the beach at Kinkuna in the Burrum Coast National Park at around 9.50am when the driver lost control with the vehicle rolling a number of times before coming to rest on its roof.
The RACQ LifeFlight helicopter transported the driver, a 36-year-old Baraga woman to Bundaberg Base Hospital with serious injuries.
Two young children were transported to hospital with minor injuries.
It is believed other people may have been in the vehicle at the time of the crash with investigators asking them to contact police (details below).
Police are also appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or the vehicle driving prior to the crash, to contact them.

Dangerous operation and firearm offences Gold Coast

A 38-year-old man, who is a known associate of the Mongols Outlaw Motorcycle Gang, has been arrested after allegedly being in possession of a firearm and driving dangerously across the Gold Coast overnight.
Around 7.10pm last night a white Holden Commodore with alleged stolen plates failed to stop for police at Clifford Street at Surfers Paradise.
Around 9pm this same vehicle was observed by officers at Hooker Boulevard at Broadbeach where PolAir began to track it.
The vehicle was only tracked by air and observed to allegedly travel northbound at high speeds and at times on the wrong side of the road.
Police successfully deployed a Tyre Deflation Device (TDD) on Oxley Drive at Runaway Bay.
The vehicle continued to be allegedly driven at high speeds with its lights off along Brisbane Road heading towards the M1.

Update 1: Man charged over double homicide, Joyner

South Brisbane detectives are expected to travel to New South Wales  to seek the extradition of man charged with a double homicide at Joyner.
A man and woman, both aged 59, were located deceased at their Joyner home yesterday afternoon.
A 31-year-old Joyner man was arrested by New South Wales police at Berowra around 6.30pm yesterday (May 17).
He was arrested and charged by virtue of Queensland Arrest Warrant for two count of murder (domestic violence offence) and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Fatal traffic crash, Injinoo

Police are appealing for witnesses to a single vehicle crash at Injinoo in the far northern region this morning.
Preliminary information suggests a sliver Toyota Landcruiser was travelling on Injinoo Road, when the driver lost control resulting in the vehicle rolling.
A passing motorist located the crash at around 10.15am.
The driver of the Landcruiser, a 26-year-old Injinoo woman, suffered significant injuries and died as a result.
Investigators from the Forensic Crash Unit are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who may have dash cam vision to please contact police.

Drug and weapons charges, Ormeau

Two men have been charged with a string of drug and weapons offences after fleeing a hit and run traffic crash on the M1 at Ormeau yesterday and later arrested by the Dog Squad.
Around 2.30pm, police were contacted by a number of motorists in relation to the alleged dangerous manner of driving of a Mazda hatchback travelling north on the M1.
A short time later the Mazda struck the rear of a Black Mercedes causing significant damage to the hatchback and blocking two lanes of the motorway.
The driver and passenger of the hatchback, two men, were seen by other motorists run from the damaged vehicle into nearby bushland.
Officers arrived and checked the occupants of the Mercedes who were uninjured and able to continue their journey.
Police located a number of items including false registration plates, fraudulent identification and a quantity of dangerous drugs in the hatchback.
