Update 2: Homicide investigation, Lamb Island

Detectives have charged a man with murder following the death of a man who was seriously assaulted on Lamb Island last Friday (May 15).
The 48-year-old man sadly passed away in the Princess Alexandra Hospital this morning.
A 55-year-old Macleay Island man appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday charged with one count of grievous bodily harm and obstruct police.
He will now reappear before court tomorrow where the charge will be upgraded to murder.

Update: Fatal quad bike crash, Ayr

A woman who sustained critical injuries following a quad bike crash near Ayr on Thursday has passed away in hospital.
Preliminary information suggests three quad bikes carrying five people were travelling together along Old Home Hill Road through Mcdesme around 8.30pm on May 14 when one of the vehicles flipped over, causing the driver and passenger to fall off.
The female passenger, a 22-year-old Ayr woman, sustained serious head injures and was transported to Ayr Hospital before being airlifted to Townsville. The woman died in hospital as a result of her injuries this morning.
The 23-year-old male driver from Home Hill was not seriously injured in the crash.
Police attended the scene and the 22-year-old driver of one of the accompanying quad bikes was charged with drink driving, not wearing a helmet, driving unregistered and driving uninsured.
The third driver, a 21-year-old Ayr man, was also charged with drink driving.

Dangerous operation of a vehicle, Brisbane City

Damage from the crash
Police have charged two teenagers after a vehicle crashed into a city cycle station on Alice Street, causing significant damage.
Shortly before 6.15am this morning a red Holden Commodore sedan travelling down Edward Street has attempted to turn into Alice Street near the gates to the Botanical Gardens.
After failing to negotiate the turn, the vehicle has crashed into a number of Brisbane City Council City Cycle bicycles and an automatic payment console before crashing into a wall.
The three occupants have exited the vehicle and ran into the Botanical Gardens before they were arrested by police without incident.
A 19-year-old man has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failing to comply with the duties of a driver involved in a crash and obstruction of police.
He will appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Police officer stood down, Southern Region

A 33-year-old senior constable from Southern Region has been stood down from duty with the Queensland Police Service.
The officer is the subject of an investigation into allegations of domestic violence and inappropriate access to confidential information.

Serious traffic crash, Kangaroo Point

A motorcyclist has suffered serious injuries following a traffic crash on the Story Bridge at Kangaroo Point this afternoon.
Preliminary information suggests the 28-year-old male rider was heading inbound over the Bradfield Highway when his motorbike clipped a car, causing him to lose control and collide with three other vehicles travelling in the outbound lanes of the bridge.
He sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.
The occupants of the other vehicles involved were uninjured.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Fatal traffic crash, Buderim

A male pedestrian has passed away in hospital after being struck by a car in Buderim early this morning.
Preliminary information suggests about 1.40am, a 62-year-old man was walking along Stringybark Road when he was hit by a white Toyota sedan.
The man from Tewantin sustained critical injuries and was transported to Sunshine Coast University hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
The 19-year-old male driver of the vehicle was not injured.
The Forensic Crash Unit is appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

Fatal traffic incident, Beenleigh

A 30-year-old Boronia Heights man has died after an incident involving a truck in Beenleigh this morning.
Preliminary inquiries indicate around 10.50am, the man was loading a vehicle onto a utility and trailer, when the rear right hand side was struck by a large Isuzu truck travelling past.
As a result of the impact, the man sustained critical injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Forensic Crash Unit investigations continue.

Successful search warrant leads to charges, Shailer Park

Detectives from the Logan Major and Organised Crime Squad-Organised Crime Gangs Group, with assistance from Springwood officers, have charged three people with 16 offences after the execution of a search warrant yesterday (May 15).
Police attended an address on Leo Lindo Drive, Shailer Park at 9.30am yesterday while conducting enquiries into the alleged possession of illicit drug materials.
As a result of the search officers located and seized a number of drug items, utensils, cash, a taser and paraphernalia.
A 50-year-old Shailer Park man has been charged with 10 offences, including one count of supply, three counts of possession relating to drugs, one count of possession of an item used in a crime, two counts of possessing drug utensils, one count of possessing suspected proceeds, one count of possessing a weapon and once count of possessing explosives.
He will appear before the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on July 7.

Wounding, Springfield Lakes

Police are investigating after a man was allegedly assaulted and stabbed at a Springfield Lakes residence last night.
At around 9.50pm a man attended an address on Cinnamon Way and allegedly struck a 55-year-old man in the head with an object when he opened the front door.
It is further alleged the man stabbed the 55-year-old a number of times in the arm.
After a short struggle between the pair outside the home the man fled the scene.
The 55-year-old was transported to Ipswich Hospital with non-life-threatening head and arm injuries.
Police attended an address in Redbank Plains a short time later and took a 59-year-old man into custody. The man, who had sustained a laceration to his arm during the altercation, was taken to hospital for further treatment.
He is currently assisting with inquiries. It is believed the men are known to each other.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward. Investigations are continuing.

Update 1: Serious assault, Lamb Island

Police investigating the alleged serious assault of a man on Lamb Island this morning have charged a man in relation to the matter.
A 55-year-old Macleay Island man has been charged with acts intending to cause grievous bodily harm and obstructing police.
He has been denied police bail and is due to appear at the Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow.
Earlier:
Around 1am, police and paramedics were called to a Perulpa Drive residence where the man was found with life-threatening facial injuries.
A crime scene has been established at the house as the circumstances of the assault are investigated.
Investigations into the matter continue.
