Logan detectives are investigating after a woman was seriously assaulted when two armed men broke into a Greenbank home yesterday morning (May 14).
Police were called to a Thompson Road residence around 6.15am after two men, believed to be armed with knives and a tomahawk, smashed a glass sliding door gaining entry to the house.
Five people were home at the time, a 56-year-old man, two women aged 38 and 36 and two 17-year-old boys.
A 36-year-old woman was violently assaulted sustaining non-life-threatening injuries to her legs, ribs and head.
She was transported to hospital for injuries including a serious laceration to her leg requiring surgery, a cut to her head requiring sutures, a broken tailbone and extensive bruising.
The men fled after the other occupants woke up, taking with them cash, computers and other personal property.

Update: Death investigation concluded, Bowen
An investigation into reports of a body found south of Bowen earlier this morning has concluded.
Police were called to reports of a body wrapped in a blanket on a trail off the Bruce Highway.
Forensic officers commenced investigations which have concluded the body is a life-like replica doll of a human.
The crime scene has been disbanded.
Officers will continue investigations into the origins of the doll.

Wounding, Durack
A man has been charged following the alleged stabbing of another man during an altercation at Durack last night.
It will be alleged at around 10.30pm two men aged 29 and 30 became involved in an argument while visiting an address on Kurrajong Street. The 30-year-old armed himself with a metal pole.
The 29-year-old man produced a knife and allegedly stabbed the other man in the arm and chest before fleeing.
The 30-year-old man was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
Police arrested the 29-year-old man at the Kurrajong Street address a short time later.
He was charged with one count of wounding and is due in Richlands Magistrates Court today.

Update 6 – Homicide investigation, Tallebudgera
Detectives have charged a woman with two counts of perjury relating to continued investigations into the murder of 36-year-old Shane Ross and 47-year-old Cameron Martin at Tallebudgera in October last year.
Police investigations led to the arrest of two Coolangatta men aged 34 and 42 years who were charged with two counts of murder earlier this year.
Today, a 27-year-old Coolangatta woman has been charged with two counts of perjury.
Police will allege the woman is known to the men charged with the murders.
The woman has been granted bail and will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on August 14.

Policing the islands during a pandemic
As some restrictions put in place across Queensland begin to ease, the Queensland Police Service has shared an insight into policing the state’s islands during the COVID-19 pandemic.
From popular tourist hot spots shutting down in the South East to biosecurity declared areas in North Queensland, island-life changed for many communities.
Extra police boarded Water Police vessels, patrolling waterways to ensure boaties were complying with new rules around island exclusion zones while also checking in on isolated communities.
There was restricted access to North Stradbroke, Moreton and Fraser islands during, what would normally be peak season, Easter school holidays.
Police lined ferry terminals to ensure those travelling to island destinations were abiding by essential travel and home confinement public health directives.
Officers stationed on islands conducted patrols, often seeing the unusually desolate beaches, tourist attractions and community hubs.

Revocation of stand down, Operations Support Command
A female senior constable from Operations Support Command who was stood down from official duty with the Queensland Police Service will now return to operational duties.
The officer was stood down in relation to an offence of unlawfully take away goods.
Court proceedings and disciplinary hearings in relation to this matter have now been finalised.

Burglary arrests, Caboolture
A man and woman have been charged after an alleged destructive burglary and attempted break in at two service stations overnight.
Around 1.15am, the pair attempted to gain entry to the front door of the Abbey Place business at Caboolture by using a hammer to smash the glass panel of the main entry door.
They were not able to gain entry due to the alarm being triggered and fled in a dark coloured sedan.
Twenty minutes later a black Ford Territory SUV pulled up outside a Bribie Island Road service station at Ningi and reversed though the glass doors causing extensive damage.
Police patrolling in Brisbane arrested the pair after allegedly attempting to evade police.
A 24-year-old man has been charged with a break and enter offence.
A 21-year-old woman has been charged with a break and enter offence and possession of a drug utensil.
Both will appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

Serious assault, Lamb Island
A 48-year-old Lamb Island man is in a serious condition in Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital following a serious assault overnight.
Around 1am, police and paramedics were called to a Perulpa Drive residence where the man was found with life-threatening facial injuries.
A crime scene has been established at the house as the circumstances of the assault are investigated.
A man and woman who were known to the man are also assisting police with their enquiries.
Investigations into the matter continue.

Logan police issue reminder about the relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions
With the further easing of Chief Health Officer restrictions from midnight tonight (11:59PM, Friday 15 May), Logan District Police will be working hard to assist the community in ensuring the new directives are met.
Police officers in the area will ensure local businesses, restaurants and licensed premises adhere to the limits on patron numbers and ensure social distancing requirements are met throughout the weekend.
Chief Superintendent Brian Swan said: “We are aware of some confusion in the community about the timing of the latest relaxation measures. The new measures commence from 11.59pm on Friday night, 15 May 2020.”
“In reality that means Saturday is the day we will see the changes many of us are looking forward to,” Chief Superintendent Swan said.
