Charges following serious traffic crash, Helidon

Darling Downs detectives have charged two men following a serious traffic crash on the Warrego Highway at Helidon this afternoon (November 18).
Just after 2pm, police were observing traffic at a rest stop when they observed an orange utility (ute) approach their location.
Police will allege that the vehicle failed to stop for police and sped off, crossing the highway to travel in the opposite direction.
Police did not pursue the vehicle.
A short time later, the ute was allegedly travelling on the wrong side of the Highway when it collided with a small truck.
The driver and sole occupant of the truck, a 46-year-old Withcott man was transported to Toowoomba Hospital with serious injuries.
A 26-year-old Graceville man and a 21-year-old Darling Heights man were arrested at the scene.
Both men were taken to Toowoomba Hospital after sustaining minor injuries as a result of the collision.
