Police charge seven in operation targeting Mongols

Today, police have charged seven people on 36 charges and seized weapons, dangerous drugs and cash after disruptive action was undertaken targeting members of the Mongols outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG).
The pre-emptive action by QPS Organised Crime Gangs Group working closely with district police and other agencies, including New South Wales police, included the execution of coordinated search warrants at residences at Broadbeach, Biggera Waters, Coomera, Miami, Beenleigh, Eagleby and Caboolture.
During a search of a Biggera Waters residence, police located approximately 0.7kg of methylamphetamine with an approximate street value of $75,000, along with a quantity steroids and GHB.
Police also seized a sawn-off shotgun located in a vehicle, a handgun, knuckle dusters, ammunition and a Mercedes at the same address.
A 27-year-old Gold Coast man and member of the Mongols OMCG was charged with multiple offences including two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of explosives and possession of dangerous drugs.
