Townsville police investigating the theft of three cars yesterday and a number of recent property offences have so far charged a total of nine people with 38 offences, with additional charges expected as investigations continue.
District Officer, Acting Superintendent Damien Crosby thanked the public for their assistance.
“Information from and the assistance of the Townsville community was pivotal to the prompt identification and arrest of this core group of offenders.
“That ongoing and continued support is greatly appreciated.”
Detectives have so far charged:
A 38-year-old Townsville man charged with three offences which included burglary and possessing dangerous drugs. He was denied police bail and was due to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court yesterday (January 3).
A 31-year-old Mount Louisa man charged with 14 offences including five counts of stealing, four counts of unlawful use of motor vehicle (UUMV), three of disqualified driving, one of trespass, and one count of obstruct police. He was denied police
