Robbery with violence, Gold Coast
Detectives are investigating after a 40 year old woman was assaulted and robbed in Broadbeach overnight.
The assault occurred at around 7pm, after which the woman made her way to a nearby police station for help.
The man was last seen running south on the Gold Coast Highway.
The woman received treatment for non-life threatening facial injuries sustained in the attack.
Investigations are continuing.

Update – Armed robbery, Fortitude Valley
A man has been charged following investigations into the armed robbery of a convenience store in Fortitude Valley earlier this month.
It will be alleged around 2.20am on Thursday, August 2 the man entered the business on Ann Street and threatened an employee with a weapon resembling an electric conductive device before demanding money.
The attendant complied, and the man allegedly fled the shop carrying the till tray which contained a sum of cash.
A 37-year-old Southport man has been charged with one count of armed robbery and remanded in custody.
He is expected to reappear in the Southport Magistrates Court on August 28.

Armed robbery – Loganlea
Police are investigating the armed robbery of a liquor store at Loganlea just after midday today.
Around 12.30pm a man with his face covered and armed with a machete has entered the Sarah Street business and demanded money.
The 63-year-old male store attendant emptied the contents of the till into a blue shopping bag the armed man was carrying.
The man also stole a bottle of alcohol from behind the counter.
The armed man is described as being aged possibly in his 20’s, 177 cm tall wearing black tracksuit pants, a black jumper and had a white material wrapped around his head.

Serious traffic crash, Ayr
Police are investigating a serious, two vehicle traffic crash which occurred in Ayr this morning.
At around 8am a semi-trailer travelling on Bower Street and a station wagon collided at the intersection of Drysdale Street.
The 66-year-old male driver of the station wagon was airlifted to the Townsville Hospital with life-threatening-injuries.
The 53-year-old male truck driver was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
They were the sole occupants of each vehicle.
Police are appealing for any witnesses or people with relevant dashcam vision to contact police.
Forensic Crash Unit officers will investigate the crash.

Police locate drugs and guns Burleigh Heads
Gold Coast Rapid Action Patrols have charged a man after the alleged discovery of drugs and two hand guns at an industrial shed at Burleigh Heads early Sunday morning.
Around 1am on August 12, 2018 police executed a search warrant on a Township Drive industrial shed where they allegedly located methylamphetamine, MDMA, utensils, a 9mm handgun and a Co2 propelled pellet handgun along with ammunition.
A 48-year-old man from Miami has been charged with two counts each of possession of a dangerous drug and unlawful possession of a weapon and one count each of possession of property suspected of being used in the commission of a drug offence, authority required to possess explosives (ammunition) and possession of a utensil.
He will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on August 30, 2018.
