Police have charged two men following a violent altercation in Gympie on Saturday morning.
At about 5pm on December 21, Gympie police arrested a 43-year-old Durack man at a petrol station along the Bruce Highway in Curra.
The man was taken into custody without further incident and was transported to Gympie Watchouse.
Th 43-year-old man has been charged with two counts of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and attempted robbery and one count each of unlawful possession of a category C weapon (shotgun), possess explosives (ammunition), enter premises with intent, armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and producing dangerous drugs (cannabis).

Firearm incident, Toowong
Police have charged an 18-year-old Springwood man following investigations into an incident at Toowong this morning.
Around 7am police were called by members of the public who reported seeing two men, one of which is alleged to have been pointing a firearm towards traffic at the intersection of Sherwood Road and Jephson Street.
Police attended a nearby hotel where they reviewed footage and spoke with staff who indicated the two men were staying there.
A short time later officers took a number of people into custody, however one man did not comply and was subsequently tasered.
The weapon was later confirmed to be a replica.
The 18-year-old man has been given a Notice to Appear for one count of going armed so as to cause fear. He is due to face the Brisbane Magistrates Court on January 16.
A 19-year-old Waterford man has been charged with one count of obstruct police and is expected to appear
Shooting incident, Gympie
Police are investigating a violent altercation in Anderleigh this morning.
Around 2am police arrived at an Anderleigh Road address after being called to reports of a disturbance at a house.
A man armed with a firearm shot at police as they arrived, before fleeing into bushland.
No one was injured as a result.
Initial investigations suggest the armed man has then approached a property via Fosters Lane at Gunalda and produced a firearm.
He demanded a resident’s silver 2003 Mazda 3 sedan, before crashing it.
A crime scene was established around 8:20am and the man remains outstanding.
He is described as Caucasian, approximately 170cm tall, large build, grey hair and brown eyes.
There has been a number of police in the area, as part of an ongoing investigation.

Update 1: Fatal hit and run incident, Hatton Vale
Police have released images of a car part that may be related to a fatal hit and run incident in Hatton Vale last week.
Investigators are seeking information to help identify the make and model of the vehicle that lost the pictured black car part.
Between 10.30pm and 11pm on Saturday, December 14, a woman was struck by an unknown vehicle travelling westbound on the Warrego Highway about 200 metres east of the Shell service station.
It is believed the 36-year-old Gatton woman was with another person, walking back to a vehicle after it had broken down on the side of the road.
The woman died at the scene.
Investigators are asking the driver of the vehicle or anyone who may know the driver, to contact police to assist with the investigation.
The Forensic Crash Unit is appealing for any information, no matter how small, that could identify the car part, or the vehicle involved.

Serious assault and attempted break in, Holland Park
Police are appealing for information following a serious assault on a man in Holland Park last night.
At about 8.50pm two men were allegedly loitering around a Stonyfell Court address when the resident of the house went outside and approached the two men.
One man has allegedly struck the resident with a baseball bat causing the man to fall to the ground.
The man has then struck the resident again on the left knee before the two men have left on foot along Cavendish Road through a side path and left in a light-coloured utility.
Both men were described has having a solid build and were both wearing masks, a hockey mask and a balaclava.
A 51-year-old man was transported to hospital for minor injuries.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Fatal traffic crash, Ilbilbie
A 69-year-old man has died following a two-vehicle crash in Ilbilbie today.
Initial investigations indicate the man was travelling south along the Bruce Highway towards Ilbilbie around 2pm, when his white Ford Ranger crashed into a Mack prime mover travelling in the opposite direction.
The man was provided medical treatment at the scene before being transported to Mackay Base Hospital where he later passed away.
The driver of the Mack prime mover was treated on scene for minor injuries.
Police are appealing for any motorists that may have seen the incident or have dashcam footage to speak to police.

Update – Operation Record, Gold Coast District
A man has been charged as part of an ongoing operation targeting serious drug offences on the northern Gold Coast
A search warrant was executed this morning at Ormeau Hills, resulting in the seizure of 1kg of MDMA powder, a pill press used for the production MDMA pills (Ecstasy) and a large sum of cash.
Other drugs seized as a result of Operation record include cocaine, cannabis, methylamphetamine and LSD.
A 36-year-old Jacobs Well man was arrested and charged with trafficking in dangerous drugs, production of dangerous drugs, 10 counts of possession of dangerous drugs, possession of restricted drugs and possess proceeds of trafficking.
The man was expected to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court today.

Update – Robberies with violence, Maroochydore
Police seeking public assistance to identify a man who was involved in two violent robberies at Maroochydore earlier this morning and a third incident which occurred mid-morning today have released vision as investigations continue.
Around 11.20am the man entered a property on Gympie Road, Mooloolah Valley. He spoke with the female victim and stolen a silver coloured Holden sedan.
The 35-year old female was not injured in the incident.
That vehicle was last seen on the Bruce Highway at Beerwah heading south.
The blue coloured Rav 4 stolen from the robbery at Pringle Court, Maroochydore has been located.

Burglary appeal, Logan
Detectives have released CCTV as part of investigations into several ram raid and burglary incidents in Browns Plains, Logan Central and Greenbank this week.
Around 3.15am yesterday, a Mitsubishi Pajero was used to ram the front doors, roller door and security bollard of a Grand Plaza Drive sporting retail store causing extensive damage.
Two males have entered the business and stole clothing and a number of electronic items.
Then 4.13am this morning a similar incident occurred at a Middle Road sporting club at Greenbank where a vehicle was used to force its way into the building. Three males were seen leaving a short time later in another vehicle.
Shortly before 5am a vehicle has forced its way into a Logan shopping centre on Wembley Drive by driving through a glass panel that leads into a pharmacy, travelling through a roller door and into a jewellery store.

Dangerous operation of vehicle charges, Holmview
Police have charged a man after observing a suspect motorcycle yesterday afternoon in Holmview.
Officers from the Logan District Drug and Firearm Team were travelling southbound along Kingston Road in Waterford around 3pm and observed a motorbike that had allegedly been used in a number of recent armed robberies.
Police attempted to pull over the motorcycle at the intersection of Kingston Road and Tygum Road, however the rider changed lanes and proceeded onto Albert Street.
He has continued along Logan River Road and increased speeds through the intersection of Castile Crescent at Edens Landing.
A short time later the rider has dropped the motorcycle whilst attempting a U-turn and ran into nearby bushland.
Police gave verbal commands for the man to stop, however he did not comply and was subsequently tasered.
The man was arrested without further incident.
Police allegedly located a replica handgun, flick knife, a quantity of cannabis and a hypodermic syringe in his backpack.
