Counterfeit Cash, Biloela

Police are warning the public, particularly businesses with high volume sales to be aware of counterfeit money which has been detected in the region.
Around $8, 000 in counterfeit cash, weapons, cannabis and drug utensils were found while executing a search warrant at a Biloela address on Friday.
Despite the large foreign text printed on them, the counterfeit notes are described as of good quality and feel compared to genuine currency.
A local business reported one of the $50 counterfeit notes, after it had been passed onto them.
Detectives are also requesting the public to be vigilant for more of the unique notes, as it is understood up to $2, 000 may be circulating in the Gladstone area.
A 39-year-old man is assisting police with their enquiries.

Suspicious fire, Keperra

Police are appealing for public assistance as part of the investigation into a suspicious fire that occurred in Keperra on Monday 11th November 2019.
Police were alerted to a grass fire at 6:45pm, located in the creek line between Camoola Street and Mingela Street, Keperra.
Police have received information that people were seen in the area immediately prior to the fire starting.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward with information.

Suspicious unit fire, Kingston

Police are investigating a suspicious unit fire at Kingston this morning.
Around 5.15am, police were called to a unit on Mayes Avenue after a report that it was on fire.
Emergency services attended the fire was quickly extinguished.
A 29-year-old male resident was the sole occupant at the time and escaped by breaking a window at the rear of the unit and climbing out. He received some minor lacerations by doing so but was otherwise uninjured.
The fire caused considerable damage to the downstairs interior of the unit, but no structural damage to the complex.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the fire may have been deliberately lit using an accelerant at the front sliding screen door.
Investigations continue.

Public appeal: Serious traffic crash, Tamborine

Police are appealing for public assistance as part of the investigation into a serious traffic crash at Tamborine on Thursday, October 24.
Investigations indicate that around 3.15pm, a black 2018 Jeep Compass station-wagon was travelling southbound along Waterford Tamborine Road, when it lost control on a left-hand bend and collided head-on with a blue 2014 Hyundai i30 hatchback travelling in the opposite direction.
The 50-year-old Shailer Park woman driving the blue Hyundai sustained a head laceration, internal injuries and numerous broken bones. She had to be freed from her vehicle, before being transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition.
A 72-year-old Avondale Heights woman who was a passenger in the blue Hyundai also sustained internal injuries and numerous broken bones. She was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition.

Armed robbery, Chelmer

Police are investigating after a man and woman were threatened with a firearm and had their car stolen at Chelmer this morning.
At around 7.15am the pair arrived home in the Audi on Laurel Avenue and pulled up in the carport.
The 64-year-old female passenger was approached by a man who opened the door, produced a long-arm firearm and demanded keys to the vehicle.
The man then threatened the 67-year-old male driver with the firearm who complied and handed over the keys.
The man drove away northbound on Laurel Ave at high speed. Neither victim sustained any physical injuries.
The man is described as wearing a dark coloured hoodie with a black bandana over his face.
Police are appealing for anyone who may see the vehicle (similar to pictured) a grey 2019 Audi RS4 with Queensland registration 324ZDW to immediately call Triple 0.

Serious traffic crash, Sheldon

A man is in a critical condition after a single vehicle traffic crash in Sheldon this morning.
Initial inquiries indicate shortly after 5am a silver Toyota Echo was travelling east on Duncan Road when the vehicle has left the road at hit a tree.
A 19-year-old Eight Mile Plains man, who was the driver and sole occupant, was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision of the vehicle prior to the crash to contact police.

Drug trafficking charges, Operation Romeo Whirlwind

Police have charged seven people as part of Operation Romeo Whirlwind, targeting organised illicit drug distribution, particularly methyl-amphetamine and cannabis in Ipswich and surrounding areas.
Investigators executed 12 warrants in Ipswich, Warwick and Brisbane during the six-month operation seizing restricted and dangerous drugs, drug utensils and weapons.
A 26-year-old Booval man was charged with 64 offences including one count of trafficking dangerous drugs, 56 counts of supplying dangerous drugs, one count of possessing dangerous drugs, two counts each of unlawful possession of weapons and possessing anything used in the commission of a crime. He was remanded in custody and is due to reappear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on November 27.
A 46-year-old Booval woman was charged with 35 charges including one count of trafficking dangerous drugs, 30 counts of supplying dangerous drugs and one count each of possessing anything used in the commission of a crime, possession of dangerous drugs, possessing a restricted

Serious assault, Bribie Island

Police have released footage and are appealing for witnesses following the assault of two rangers at Bribie Island on November 9.
At around 2pm, the two rangers were working when they noticed people climbing on a WWII structure.
When the two male rangers, aged 41 and 44, approached a woman who was filming another climbing on the structure, she started to assault both men physically by kicking, punching, scratching and spitting at  them.
The woman then left the beach in a vehicle.
Anyone who may have witnessed this behaviour on the day or who may have filmed it is urged to contact police.
Investigations are continuing.

Armed robbery, Browns Plains

Police have released vision of three people as part of their investigation into the armed robbery of a Browns Plains pawnbroker yesterday afternoon.
Around 2.40pm (Sunday November 10), two men wearing high-visibility long-sleeve shirts and balaclavas attended the business on Grand Plaza Drive. One was armed with a shot-gun and the other with a small axe.
The man with the firearm threatened patrons and staff-members and demanded they get on the ground, whilst the second man moved towards the jewellery section and damaged several glass display cases.
The two men then stole a quantity of jewellery before running from the business to a waiting black Honda Civic bearing false Queensland registration plates “360 YQW”, which was driven by a third person.
The car was last seen turning from Grand Plaza Drive onto Browns Plains Road.
No one was injured as a result of the armed robbery.
Investigations continue.

Fatal traffic crash, Brassall

A single vehicle crash at Brassall this morning claimed the life of an 18-year-old Gatton man.
Initial investigations indicate the man was driving east along the Warrego Highway when his vehicle left the roadway and collided with a tree at around 4.45am.
The man, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was declared deceased at the scene.
Investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit are continuing.
