Police are investigating the armed robbery of a liquor store in Mooroobool last night.
Just before 8pm, six people, some armed with hockey sticks, demanded money from the male store attendant.
The six people then fled the Swallow Street store with a sum of cash and alcohol.
Officers patrolled the area but were unable to locate anyone matching the description.
No one was physically injured during the incident and investigations are continuing.

Armed robbery – Underwood
Police are investigating the armed robbery of a service station last night.
At 7.30pm a man entered the Logan Road business and jumped the counter before filling a bag with tobacco products.
He then produced a knife and demanded the staff member open the cash register before putting a sum of cash into his bag.
He then fled the scene by running across Logan Road and south along the service road.
No one was physically injured during the incident and investigations are ongoing.

Update: Bushfire, O’Reilly (Sarabah)
The 100 people who were sheltering at the O’Reilly Guest House have been successfully evacuated from the area.
The group included police, guests and staff who were able to leave the area safely by road this evening and are now at a nearby evacuation centre.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services are advising winds are expected to impact the Sarabah bushfire this evening, with winds forecast to increase from midnight.

Update 2: Acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, Gympie
A man who sustained serious stab wounds following an altercation in Gympie on September 1 has died in hospital.
The alleged altercation occurred at the intersection of the Gympie Highway and Monkland Street at about 2:45pm.
A 31-year-old Amarmoor man was transported to hospital, where he passed away yesterday.
A 26-year-old man was charged with one count each of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife in public.
It is expected that charges against the man will be upgraded.
He is next due to appear in Gympie Magistrates Court on November 11.

PSPA declared, Peregian Springs
Police have declared an emergency situation at Peregian Springs and Peregian Beach in relation to a bushfire in the area.
The declaration was made at 7:08pm under the provisions of the Public Safety Preservation Act.
The declared zone is bounded by Old Emu Mountain Road, David Low Way, the Sunshine Coast Motorway and Podargus Parade.
Police are urging residents within the area to self-evacuate and for anyone outside the zone to avoid travel to the area.
An evacuation centre has been established at the Coolum Surf Life Saving Club.

Bush fire, O’Reilly (Sarabah)
About 100 people are safely sheltering at the O’Reilly Guest House following an earlier warning to leave the area due to a bush fire impacting on road access.
The group includes police, guests and staff who have been unable to leave the area by road.
Authorities remain in contact with the group and are confident they are in no immediate danger.
Plans are being enacted to ensure the group can leave as soon as it is safe to do so.
Fire investigation, Linville
Police are investigating three fires along the Brisbane-Valley Rail Trail which occurred late Saturday evening.
Around midnight a member of the public called Triple zero after seeing a fire at the top of the D’Aguilar Highway near Benarkin.
Fire and Emergency Services Rural Fire Service responded and located a further two fires further east towards the town of Linville.
As yet, QFES and police are unable to confirm the cause of the fires which subsequently burnt several hectares of vegetation between Benarkin and Linville.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious to contact them particularly anyone who was in the area at the time near the helipad section of the Blackbutt range

Fire investigation, Lakes Creek
Following investigations into a fire in the Mount Archer area, police commenced proceedings by way of a Notice to Appear against a 63-year-old Lakes Creek man for the offence of Light Unauthorised Fire under the provisions of the Fire and Emergency Services Act 1990.
Around 1.45pm yesterday a member of the public called Triple Zero after seeing a man acting suspiciously in the area.
It will be alleged that the man was conducting his own backburning operations without a permit – and the fire subsequently spread from Lakes Creek to Mount Archer.
With Queensland continuing to experience extreme and dangerous fire conditions throughout the state with devastating bushfire being fought in several locations, police are reminding the public of the dangers of lighting fires.
The man is scheduled to appear at the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on 8 October 2019.

Update: Fire investigation, Pimpama
Police have located three boys as part of their investigation into two fires which were deliberately lit at Pimpama on Saturday September 7.
Around 3.30pm, a member of the public driving past bushland off Rifle Range Road observed smoke coming from a storm water drain. The man found a small fire and went home, coming back with buckets of water and extinguishing the fire, which had not spread.
Around 4.45pm, police were on Yawalpah Road when they noticed smoke coming from the western side of the M1 motorway.
Officers drove to Rifle Range Road, just south of Bull Road, where a fire was burning in bushland. Fortunately, the Ormeau Rural Fire unit were also aware and arrived on-scene and quickly extinguished the blaze.
Following subsequent investigations, police located a 9-year-old boy, 10-year-old boy and 11-year-old boy. The two older boys will now be dealt with under provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
