Gold Coast detectives have charged a man with drug and weapons offences following a search warrant today in Helensvale.
Around 6.30am detectives executed a search warrant on the Latrobe Avenue address where they allegedly located a quantity of methamphetamine, LSD, cannabis, cash, firearms and ammunition were located.
A 41-year-old Helensvale man has been charged with 12 offences including one count each of possessing dangerous drug exceeding Schedule 4 (methamphetamine) and supplying dangerous drugs, two counts each of possessing dangerous drugs, unlawful possession of weapons and possession of anything used in the commission of crime (glassware) and one count each of authority required to possess explosives (ammunition), possess utensil, possessing restricted item (laser pointer) and possessing property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence (cash).
He is to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on July 17.
Two other men arrested at the address have been released without charge.

Police officer stood down, South Eastern Region
A 45-year-old male senior constable from the South Eastern Region has been stood down from official duty with the Queensland Police Service and has been tasked to perform non-operational duties.
The officer is subject of an investigation into allegations of unauthorised access of confidential information. The officer has been charged with one offence pursuant to section 408E, Computer hacking and misuse, of the Criminal Code and is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on July 30.

Serious crash, Jindalee
Police are investigating a three-vehicle-crash which occurred in Jindalee earlier today.
At 2.15pm, travelling southbound on the Centenary Highway at Jindalee, a motorcycle and a car collided.
The impact threw the motorcyclist to the ground where he was struck by a passing struck.
The 21-year-old male rider from Boronia Heights was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
The 18-year-old female driver of the car from Chelmer and the 55-year-old male truck driver from Leichardt were not physically injured during the incident.

Serious traffic crash, Charleville
Police are investigating a serious, single vehicle traffic crash which occurred 40 kilometres east of Charleville this afternoon.
At 1pm, a sedan was travelling east on the Warrego Highway when it crashed and then rolled several times.
The 25-year old male driver and a 17-year-old male passenger were transported to Charleville Hospital for treatment to non-life-threatening injuries.
A 29-year-old female passenger was also transported to Charleville Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Fatal traffic crash, Yandina
A man has died following a single vehicle motorcycle crash at Yandina this afternoon.
Around 2.30pm, a motorcycle travelling south on the Bruce Highway collided with a guard rail and the rider was flung from the motorcycle.
The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

‘Look to the Stars’ plaque acknowledgement and NAIDOC flag raising ceremony
NAIDOC flag raising ceremony at the Queensland Police Service Academy, north Queensland
Member for Townsville Scott Stewart MP, representing Minister for Police and Minister for Corrective Services, the Honourable Mark Ryan MP, joined Acting Chief Superintendent Dale Frieberg and Acting Chief Superintendent Steve Munro yesterday to formally unveil a ‘Look to the Stars’ plaque and NAIDOC flag raising ceremony at the Queensland Police Service Academy, north Queensland.
‘Look to the Stars’ was launched by the QPS in May 2018 and serves as a visual reminder of our past, present and future engagements with all Indigenous communities throughout Queensland.
Former Commissioner Ian Stewart initiated a Look to the Stars ‘Acknowledgement to Country’ plaque that is gradually being placed at all QPS establishments.
At yesterday’s ceremony, another plaque in honour of Indigenous Elder Samuel Rueben was also formally unveiled.
Mr Rueben was a Townsville Indigenous advocate, youth and suicide prevention campaigner and was committed to raising issues
Armed robbery, Mooloolaba
Police are investigating following the armed robbery of a convenience store in Mooloolaba this morning.
At around 6am a man entered the shop on The Esplanade, produced what appeared to be a firearm and pointed it at the store attendant, demanding money.
The 27-year-old male employee complied and the man put a sum of cash in a “bum bag” before fleeing the scene on foot.
The man is described as aged in his mid 20s to mid 30s,Caucasian in appearance with a round face and short dark hair.
He was wearing a dark coloured hooded jumper with white writing on the front, dark knee length pants, dark gloves and possible sandals on his feet.
Police are appealing for anyone who may recognise the man in the CCTV images to come forward.

Serious assault, Mareeba
Detectives are investigating the serious assault of a man in Mareeba overnight.
Initial investigations indicate the 35-year-old man was involved in an altercation with a 26-year-old woman at the Mareeba Showgrounds around 11.45pm.
A short time later police were called to Mareeba Dimbulah Road after the man was attacked and located unconscious with paramedics performing first aid.
The victim was transported to Mareeba Hospital before being airlifted to Townsville Hospital in a critical condition.
Police are appealing to any witnesses who were in the area at the time and may not have spoken yet to contact them.

A man has died following a single vehicle traffic crash at Parkwood, on the Gold Coast last night.
Just before 6pm, a Holden sedan was travelling along Captain Cook Drive when it lost control, struck a concrete gutter and hit a tree.
The driver, a 64-year-old Coombabah man, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Update 2: Serious assault, Cairns
A 32-year-old Bungalow man has died following an incident at Pier Road on Friday night.
On July 5, the man was taken to Cairns Base Hospital with serious head injuries following an alleged altercation outside a licensed premise around 10.40pm.
A 20-year-old Trinity Beach man who was previously charged with grievous bodily harm is due to appear in Cairns Magistrates Court tomorrow where the charges will be upgrade to unlawful striking causing death.
