A 21-year-old man has been charged following investigations into an alleged attempted abduction that occurred in North Rockhampton earlier this morning.
A 24-year-old woman was standing outside a hotel on Main Street this morning around 12.15 when she was approached by a man allegedly placed the woman in a headlock and attempted to drag her towards a ute that was parked nearby.
The woman was able to alert nearby residents and when the man saw other people approaching, he released the woman and fled the scene in the ute.
Police will allege they pursued the ute south on the Bruce Highway around 1.30am, deployed a tyre deflation device at around 1.45am.
The vehicle continued to travel around the Rockhampton area and the man allegedly fled the car on Emu Park Road around 2.10am and was tracked and taken into custody by Police Dog Griffin and other officers.
The woman did not sustain any physical injures

Vision: Break and enter, Charters Towers
Detectives have released vision of a ram raid at Charters Towers in the early hours of Thursday morning, May 9, in which a motorbike was stolen.
At 1.10am a person on a quad bike rammed the front door of the Mary Street business. A second person entered the store and stole a 2018 Yamaha YZ450 motorbike.
On Saturday, May 11, at 2.30am police sighted both bikes on Millchester Road however, when the riders saw police, they fled onto dirt track.
On Sunday at 1.10am the bikes where seen travelling at speed heading north on Prior Street.
Investigators are appealing for anyone with further information to contact police.

Arrest, Mackay
On Friday, May 10 a 28-year-old man was arrested as the result of an investigation into the alleged graffiti and wilful damage of businesses and police vehicles over a four-week period.
Police arrested the man around 2.30pm on Binnington Esplanade. When arrested, it will be alleged the man was in possession of a handmade hand gun and a quantity of cash.
It is also alleged, the man, from South Mackay, was also involved in the dangerous operation of a motor vehicle on the May 5 that resulted in ramming of two police vehicles and a number of private vehicles on Nebo Road.
The man is expected to appear in Mackay Magistrates Court today on multiple charges including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, stealing, wilful damage, obstructing police and breaches of bail.

Police have released CCTV of two men they wish to speak to in relation to a Molendinar car-yard that was broken into on Saturday May 4, where three vehicles were destroyed by fire.
Around 1.00am, two men forced entry to a car-yard on Industrial Avenue, which is used by a tow-company to secure damaged vehicles retrieved from traffic accidents.
Investigations indicate that the men unlawfully entered several vehicles, before one of the men unlawfully operated a 2010 Ford Transit ice-cream van within the car-yard before setting it on fire, which quickly spread to a neighbouring 2008 Jeep Cherokee and 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia.
The men then fled the scene on foot.
Firefighters attended and extinguished the blaze. All three vehicles were destroyed.
The men are described as Caucasian in appearance and are believed to be aged in their 20s.

The pair struggled, and the woman was able to alert nearby residents and when the man saw other people approaching, he released the woman and fled the scene in the ute.
Responding police have sighted the vehicle travelling south on the Bruce Highway around 1.30am and have commenced a pursuit.

Update: Suspicious death, Surfers Paradise – appeal for information
Detectives are appealing for public assistance to locate a man who may be able to assist with enquiries following the death of a man in Surfers Paradise on May 10.
Officers were called to an address on Markwell Avenue shortly after 5pm following reports that a man was located suffering significant injuries in a house. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Initial investigations suggested the death was suspicious and a number of detectives from the Gold Coast and the Homicide Investigation Group declared a crime scene and scientific officers have been processing the scene over the weekend.
The deceased man has been identified as a 38-year-old Gold Coast man, Dre Nova.
A post-mortem will be conducted this morning to help determine a cause of death.
Investigators are seeking assistance to locate 26-year-old man Coskun Marius (also referred to as ‘CJ’) (see image below), who may be able to assist with the investigation.

Robbery with violence, Logan Central
Detectives have charged two teenagers following an alleged robbery with violence at a bottle shop in Logan Central overnight.
At around 7:45pm two boys and a girl entered the store on Wembley Road in Logan Central.
It will be alleged when a staff member asked the group to provide identification one of the boys punched the staff member in the face before the group stole a bottle of alcohol and fled the scene.
The male staff member was treated at the scene for facial injuries but did not require transportation to hospital.
Police conducted patrols of the area and two boys were taken into custody at an address on Golden Street in Logan Central at around 9:45pm.

Update: Finalisation of alleged assault and armed robbery, Upper Mount Gravatt
Detectives from the South Brisbane District investigating a report of an alleged armed robbery of a 20-year-old man at Upper Mount Gravatt on Thursday, May 9 have finalised their investigation.
It had been reported that the man was allegedly assaulted and robbed on Logan Road at around 7.30pm.
Following a thorough investigation into the alleged incident detectives have determined that no further action is necessary, and the case has been closed.
Man charged over alleged serious assault of woman at Bulimba
Dutton Park detectives have charged a man following investigations into an alleged serious assault in which a woman was choked at Bulimba on Thursday evening (May 9).
It will be alleged a woman in her 30’s was first approached by the man inside a licensed venue in Oxford Street around 7pm where the man initiated a very brief conversation with her.
Around 8pm the woman was walking down Wambool Street, Bulimba when she spotted the man standing in a driveway.
The man rushed at the woman, grabbing her around the neck and choking her.
The woman passed out for a short period of time before regaining consciousness and screaming for help.
Residents from a nearby house ran outside which caused the man to run off.
The woman, who sustained minor injuries to her neck and arm, was transported to hospital.

Police have charged two men after a utility rammed five cars on the Pacific Motorway last night.
It will be alleged around 10.20pm yesterday police observed a white Holden utility travelling northbound on Kingston Road at Woodridge.
The vehicle turned left into Compton round before turning left through a red light into Ewing road.
Polair was tasked to track the vehicle inbound on the Pacific Motorway.
It will be alleged the utility collided with a police vehicle and four slow moving vehicles on the motorway at Annerley before heading south.
A tyre deflation device was successfully deployed on Mt Gravatt-Capalaba Road at Wishart before the vehicle stopped on Logan Road at Eight Mile Plains and two men were arrested.
It will be further alleged police located two loaded firearms in the vehicle.
