Police are investigation after two men were assaulted and robbed in Sunnybank overnight.
At around 8pm, two men were walking on Station Road when they were approached by a group of around 5 or 6 men.
Member of the group made demands for the men’s phones and cash, and when the pair complied, they were punched in the head.
The group then fled the scene on foot with two phones and a sum of cash and were last seen running towards the Sunnybank Rail Station.
The men were treated for minor injuries.
Investigations are continuing.

Assault investigation, Booval
A woman is assisting police after a man sustained a number of suspected stab wounds in Booval overnight.
Officers were called to an address on Bergin Street just before 6.30pm following reports that a man had been stabbed.
When police arrived, a 30-year-old man was found with a number of wounds to his neck and abdomen.
He was taken to the Ipswich Hospital in a serious but non-life-threatening condition.
Police took a woman into custody and the scene and she is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

Dangerous operation of a stolen vehicle, Bracken Ridge
Police are investigating after a ute was stolen overnight in Bracken Ridge.
At 10.30pm, two unknown men stole a ute from an address on Springer Place, Bracken Ridge.
As they were driving the ute away from the address, the owner jumped onto the back of the tray as they sped off.
The two offenders have driven the ute, with the man still on the back, around the North Brisbane area for around half an hour and during this time, a coffee cup that was in the ute was thrown at the man and it struck him on the head.
The ute then pulled over on Castle Hill Drive at Murrumba Downs when a small white car pulled in behind the ute.
The man then jumped off the back of the ute and approached the car to seek assistance before both vehicles sped off and were last seen on Dohles Rocks Road.

Police are investigating after a man was seriously assaulted in Browns Plains overnight.
Officers were called to a disturbance at an address on Dover Court at 9.30pm.
Initial investigations suggest that following an argument between two men and a woman, a 26-year-old man was assaulted and collapsed on the road.
He was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Fatal traffic crash, Dunkeld
A man has died following a single vehicle traffic crash at Dunkeld, south of Mitchell this morning.
At 11.20am emergency services were called after a four-wheel drive was located crashed into a tree beside Mitchell-Saint George Road.
The driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 62-year-old Dunkeld man, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Update – Suspicious death investigation, Depot Hill
Detectives have charged a man following investigations into the suspicious death of a man at Depot Hill on April 16.
A 56-year-old man was located with facial injuries at a residence on Campbell Street at around 9.30pm.
Emergency services responded, however the man was declared deceased at the scene.
A 28-year-old Depot Hill man has been charged with one count of murder.
He will appear before the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on April 26.
The two men were known to each other.

Road closures for Anzac Day 2019, Gold Coast District
Police would like to remind motorists of upcoming road closures due to Anzac Day services across the Gold Coast.

Project Booyah launches on the Sunshine Coast
A highly successful Queensland Police Service initiative aimed at helping curb youth crime through early intervention and education has today launched on the Sunshine Coast for the first time.
Project Booyah is a multi-agency initiative targeting ‘at risk’ youth who are involved with criminal/ anti-social behaviour, substance abuse or disengagement from school and works towards giving them skills for life and employability through police mentoring, leadership, adventure-based learning and vocational pathways.
Police Minister Mark Ryan said the launch of Project Booyah on the Sunshine Coast would provide troubled youths with a life-changing opportunity.
“Wherever Project Booyah operates across Queensland we are seeing tremendous results.
“We are seeing young people turn their lives around, re-engaging with educational and employment opportunities.
“But the most important change we see in these young people is their attitude towards themselves.
“Project Booyah works because it imbues young people with a newfound respect for themselves and others.
“It also gives them renewed self-confidence,” the
2019 Channel 7 News Gold Coast Running Festival – road closures
Gold Coast Police would like to remind motorists of upcoming road closures due to the Ch 7 News Gold Coast Running Festival.
The run will be conducted from 4:30am to 11:00am on Sunday April 28, 2019 and commences in Stadium Drive, Robina and concludes inside Cbus Super Stadium, Robina.
Police have been working with the various event stakeholders to ensure the fun run is conducted safely and with minimum disruption to traffic.
Motorists are urged to avoid travelling along the route during the event due to diversions that will be in place.
“Queensland Police officers will be in place at the event to ensure public safety and to minimise disruption to local residents and businesses as much as possible during the event,” Inspector Mat Rosevear said.

Update, serious assault, Dutton Park
A man has been charged after a man was located with a wound to his neck in Dutton Park on April 19.
Officers were called to Park Road shortly after 11pm following reports of a disturbance.
When police arrived, a 52-year-old man was located with an alleged stab wound to his neck.
He was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition.
Police have charged a 40-year-old Annerley man this afternoon with one count of attempted murder.
He is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on April 22.
