Update: Assault investigation, Sunshine Coast
Police have charged a man after another man suffered a gunshot wound to his mouth at a Curramore residence last month.
It will be alleged the 40-year-old victim from Childers was shot through the windscreen of a vehicle on February 2.
Police yesterday arrested a 36-year-old Curramore man at a Woodford residence in relation to the incident.
It is further alleged the man was located in possession of methylamphetamine and cash.
A number of subsequent searches conducted on residences at Woodford also uncovered a clandestine lab and a caravan allegedly stolen from Deception Bay in January.

Update 2: Puppies stolen, Mitchelton
Police from Ferny Grove have charged a second man in relation to the theft of two newborn puppies from a home in Mitchelton on March 3.
The four-week-old Maltese Shitzu cross pups were recovered by officers following two separate searches of Stafford residences later that week.
A 23-year-old man was charged with burglary and animal cruelty on March 8.
Yesterday detectives charged a 32-year old man with one count of burglary, receiving tainted property and two counts of fraud.
He is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

Drug arrest – Southport
Detectives from the Gold Coast CIB along with members of Task Force Maxima Road Policing Unit have charged two women with serious drug offences after a vehicle was intercepted at Ferry Road at Southport around midday yesterday.
It will be alleged during a search of the vehicle police located cocaine with a street value in access of $15,000, $2500 in cash, restricted drugs and other drug paraphernalia.
A 26-year-old Wynnum woman was arrested and charged with three counts each of possession of dangerous drugs, possession of restricted drugs, possession of property suspected of being proceeds of crime, and two counts each of forgery, possession of tainted property and possession of drug utensils.
A 23-year-old Alderley woman was arrested and charged with possession of dangerous drugs, possession of controlled drugs, possession of tainted property and possession of drug utensils.
Both women will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on March 26.

The Queensland Police Service have located the 5-year-old boy who was the subject of an Amber Alert this afternoon.
The boy has been located safe and well, along with a 35-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman.

40 people charged over drug and property offences, Gold Coast District
Police have charged 40 people following a day of action targeting drug and property offences across the Gold Coast District.
Detectives from the Gold Coast CIB, supported by members of the Gold Coast Rapid Action and Patrols group (RAP), executed 28 search warrants at Varsity Lakes, Tugun, Burleigh, Burleigh Waters, Currumbin, Palm Beach, Currumbin Waters, Chevron Island, Labrador, Ashmore, Southport, Coomera, Upper Coomera, Oxenford, Holmview, Ormeau and Pimpama this morning.
It will be alleged that the operation resulted in the location and seizure of a significant quantity of dangerous drugs, including; methylamphetamines (Ice), cocaine, cannabis, and steroids.
Police also allegedly located a stolen motorcycle, stolen watches, stolen diamonds, weapons (knuckledusters, a shorten shotgun and an electrical antipersonnel device), fireworks and other suspected stolen property and drug paraphernalia.

QPS celebrates female trailblazers at International Women’s Day event

On Friday, March 8 members from the Queensland Police Service (QPS) joined staff from across the emergency services to participate in the fifth annual Public Safety International Women’s Day event.
The annual event celebrates the work of women across Queensland’s public safety and integrity agencies and provides an opportunity for staff to come together to network, learn raise awareness and recognise women’s achievements.
This year’s official host was the Public Safety Business Agency CEO Peter Griffin who welcomed the 800 attendees from across the portfolio agencies.
The event was attended by Queensland Governor Paul de Jersey as well as Minister for Police and Minister for Corrective Services Mark Ryan MP.
QPS Commissioner Ian Stewart, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) Commissioner Katarina Carroll and Queensland Corrective Services Commissioner (QCS) Peter Martin were also in attendance.

Burglary with violence, Glasshouse Mountains
Detectives are investigating a burglary that occurred in the Glasshouse Mountains on Sunday night.
Around 11.30pm, four men forced entry into the Springburn Drive house and confronted a 69-year-old woman and a 76-year-old man who were asleep at the time.
The group armed with a crow bar, forced the pair to sit on a chair in the bedroom while they searched the residence.
The 76-year-old man was struck in the face by one of the men before they fled the house with the victims’ jewellery, mobile phones and a purse.
The elderly man was treated at the scene by paramedics.
The first man is described as Caucasian and he was wearing shorts with a hoodie and socks with thongs. He was also wearing gloves and carrying a crowbar.

Armed robbery, Crestmead
Police are investigating after two people were threatened with a knife in their Crestmead home this afternoon.
Around 1.45pm a man and woman, both in their seventies, were at their Coffey Street home when two young men have forced entry though the garage door.
They threatened the man with a knife and chisel before searching the house. They then stole a Holden Captiva from the garage.
They crashed the car into a tree a short time later on Hakari Street and fled the scene on foot.
The men are described as in their late teens or early twenties, one is about 170cm tall, solid build with brown hair and the other is 183cm tall with a thin build.
The victims were not physically injured in the incident and do not know the men.
Police are appealing for anyone with further information, CCTV or dashcam vision to contact police.
Arrest of Mongols OMCG member
Investigators from the Gold Coast Major and Organised Crime Squad (MOCS) have today arrested a 28-year-old Merrimac man with possessing a quantity of performance and image enhancing drugs and wearing a prohibited item in public.
It will be alleged by police the man is a member of the Mongols Outlaw Motorcycle Club and was identified wearing a Mongols shirt (which is a prohibited item in public).
During the search warrant on his residence police allegedly located the prohibited clothing and a quantity of steroids.
The man has been bailed from the Southport watchhouse to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on March 25 to answer the charges.
