Serious traffic crash, Bald Hills

Police are investigating a serious traffic crash that occurred in Bald Hills this morning.
Initial information suggests that a motorcycle was travelling southbound on Gympie Arterial Road at 6.30 this morning when it collided with a car and then a guard rail.
A 37-year-old man riding the motorcycle was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with serious head injuries.
The 41-year-old woman driving the car did not receive any physical injuries as a result of the crash.
Police are appealing to anyone that might have been in the area and witnessed the crash or has a dash cam to contact them.
The Forensic Crash Unit are continuing to investigate.

Update: Assault charges, Rockhampton

Police have charged a man with assault occasioning bodily harm in relation to an incident that occurred in Wandal on November 14.
It will be alleged that a 23-year-old old man was assaulted near Ski Gardens at around 12pm.
A 36-year-old man from The Range was charged on November 18 and is due to appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court today.

Day three of Gold Coast Schoolies 2018

The first weekend of celebrations for schoolies concluded last night with 2018 school leavers enjoying the entertainment on offer in Surfers Paradise.
While police were generally pleased with crowd behaviour, they continue to remind school leavers to act responsibly, stay safe and watch their mates.
Overnight police arrested 9 schoolies on 11 offences which were mainly for public nuisance and drug possession. Six schoolies were issued with liquor infringements notices.
In comparison for the same night in 2017 there were 13 schoolies arrested.
There were 14 non-schoolies arrested on 14 charges, mostly relating to public nuisance and drug possession.
Police continue to remind school leavers that the possession and consumption of dangerous drugs is illegal and could have fatal consequences.

Attempted murder charge, Annerley

Police have charged a man after an alleged altercation occurred in which a man sustained serious stab wounds in Annerley yesterday afternoon.
It will be alleged the two men, who are known to each other, became involved in the altercation outside an Ipswich Road boarding house at around 3pm.
A 33-year-old Annerley man received a wound to the stomach and neck and was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he remains in a stable condition
Police located a man in Norman Street a short time later and took him into custody.
A 26-year-old Annerley man has been charged with one count of attempted murder and is scheduled to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

Death investigation, Surfers Paradise

Police are investigating the death of an infant at Surfers Paradise overnight.
Around 12.30.am, police and paramedics were called to Staghorn Avenue, the Esplanade, to attend to a young girl who was unresponsive.
Emergency Services officers conducted CPR however the child was declared deceased at the scene.
A crime scene has been declared as detectives work to determine the cause of the girl’s death and to confirm the girl’s identity.

Police officer suspended South Eastern Region

A Sergeant from the South Eastern Region has been suspended from the Queensland Police Service.
The officer is subject of an investigation in relation to improper off duty sexual conduct towards females.

Induction ceremony sees 76 officers sworn into service

The 76 recruits inducted into the QPS last night
Commissioner Ian Stewart today welcomed 76 new police officers and eight new police dogs (PDs) to the Queensland Police Service (QPS) after a graduation ceremony was held at the Queensland Police Service Academy at Oxley.
Graduating as First Year Constables (FYC), the new officers have completed 25 weeks of intensive training, preparing them for their new roles serving the community.
The recruit training program aims to provide recruits with a high-quality foundation, so they can deliver an excellent level of service to the community and ensure their policing skills have developed to a level necessary for operational policing, under supervision.
Commissioner Stewart congratulated the FYCs on their graduation and announced they would commence their careers in the Brisbane, South Eastern, Central and Southern regions.

Burglary, Yarrabilba

Police have released CCTV vision of an early morning break-in at a Yarrabilba service station.
At around 12.20am a stolen Toyota Estima van attended the Yarrabilba Drive business where three males exiting the van and smashed the glass front doors of the servo. The driver remained in the vehicle.
The trio stole property including cash and cigarettes, as well as damaging equipment and smashing glass panels before fleeing.
One male was wearing black shoes, dark long pants, black t-shirt, and a white baseball cap, and had the lower half of his face covered. He was armed with a machete.
The second male was wearing white shoes, black shorts, black t-shirt, and had a red and white bandanna covering his face, as well as dark sunglasses. He was armed with a small hatchet.
The third male was wearing a black and white Nike running shoes, black shorts, navy t-shirt and a black balaclava.

Serious traffic crash, Helidon

Police are investigating a serious two vehicle traffic crash that occurred at Helidon this morning.
At about 5.30am, a motorcycle travelling eastbound on the Warrego Highway collided with a vehicle that was entering the westbound lanes from a nearby rest area.
The 25-year-old female rider of the motorcycle was transported to the Toowoomba Base Hospital in a critical condition.
The 48-year-old female driver of the motor vehicle was not injured.
Any members of the public who witnessed the incident or who have relevant dash-cam footage are urged to contact police.

Update: Traffic related incident, projectile filed – Redbank Plains

Ipswich detectives investigating a traffic incident in which a projectile was fired into a car at Redbank Plains on October 29 have released details of a vehicle of interest.
Police would like to speak to the owners of a 2018 red Mazda 3 Hatch with Queensland Registration 957-XZK, as detectives believe they may be able to assist with their investigations.
A verbal altercation occurred around 3.15pm on Monday, October 29 between the drivers of two vehicles on Henty Drive, Redbank Plains.
Following the altercation one of the vehicles followed the other to nearby Jack Drive. The first vehicle pulled over and police will allege the second vehicle fired a projectile, hitting the tyre of the first car.
The offending vehicle then sped off.
Police have released CCTV vision of the Mazda 3, see below link.
No one was physically injured, and police investigations are continuing.
Police have been unable to locate this vehicle and are seeking assistance
