Update: Dangerous operation, Sunshine Coast

Police have charged two people after two cars were allegedly driven at high speed before crashing on the Sunshine Coast this afternoon.
It will be alleged around 12pm officers from the Road Policing Unit spotted a stolen grey Mercedes in the company of a black Commodore, both parked at traffic lights on the northern side of Nambour.
Police activated their lights and both of the vehicles allegedly sped away, the Mercedes heading towards Nambour and the Commodore travelling towards Montville and Nambour Hospital.
A police car followed the Mercedes for a short time before the vehicle allegedly crossed to the wrong side of the road and into the path of oncoming traffic.
A police motorbike headed in the direction of the Commodore and came across a three vehicle traffic crash which had just occurred outside of the hospital.
Members of the public alerted the motorcycle officer to a man and girl allegedly fleeing the scene

Serious traffic crash, Greenslopes

Police are investigating following a serious traffic crash at Greenslopes today.
Preliminary information suggests at around midday a high performance vehicle was travelling southbound on Logan Road when it collided with a station wagon at Bardsley Avenue and rolled a number of times.
The driver of the station wagon, a 37-year-old woman, sustained head, neck and leg injures as a result of the collision and was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
The driver of the second vehicle, a 41-year-old man and his 40-year-old male passenger sustained cuts and bruising and were transported to hospital for further treatment.
Logan Road remained closed until 4pm this afternoon, however is now open to traffic.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Vision: Armed robbery, Kedron

Police are investigating following the armed robbery of a convenience store in Kedron overnight.
At around 11:00pm a man entered the store on Gympie Road, armed with a knife.
The man threatened two staff members before stealing a sum of cash from the register and fleeing on foot on Nundah Street.
No one was physically injured during the robbery.
The man (pictured) was last seen wearing a black jumper with white writing and a dark coloured head covering.
Anyone with dashcam vision from the area overnight or any other information is urged to contact police.

Man charged over drugs, Upper Coomera

Police have charged a man, after allegedly uncovering a significant quantity of dangerous drugs at an Upper Coomera home this morning.
Around 7am, officers from the Rapid Action Patrol group executed a search warrant at a property on Bluetail Crescent, where they allegedly located approximately cocaine, steroids and growth hormones, peptide pills, cash and utensils.
A 29-year-old Upper Coomera man has now been charged with seven counts each of possessing dangerous drugs and possessing restricted drugs, two counts of possessing utensils and one count each of possessing suspected proceeds of a drug offence and failing to take reasonable care and precaution in respect to a syringe.
He is scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on November 9, 2018.

Assault and Robbery – West End Townsville

Police are investigating after a 39-year-old man was assaulted during an incident at West End early this morning.
Around 2am at a fast food outlet carpark in Aitkenvale, a man approached three men in a vehicle and requested a lift. As the men were travelling through West End, the man produced a samurai sword and stole money from an 18-year-old passenger.
The group attempted to push the man from the vehicle, when one of them was assaulted with the sword. They then managed to force him out of the car on Henry Street and drove to a safe location where they phoned triple zero.
The 39-year-old victim was taken to the Townsville Hospital where he was treated for his injuries and has since been released.
The man is described as being Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance, about 170cm tall with a proportionate build with brown eyes and brown hair.

Update: Vehicle offences – Durong and Ironpot

Two people have been arrested in New South Wales overnight following investigations into vehicle thefts and firearm offences in South Burnett earlier this month.
On October 22 in Durong, a Landcruiser, stolen from an Ironpot address, was involved in a traffic incident with a member of the public, at which time the stolen vehicle rammed the other car, and the male driver produced a rifle.
A 30-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman were arrested in the Hunter Valley and are expected to be extradited to Queensland.
Acting on information received, the man and woman were arrested at a Muswellbrook hotel during a police operation on October 26.
The matter was subject to a public appeal on October 22.
The man and woman are expected to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court next week.

Serious assault charge, Rochedale

A man has been charged following an alleged altercation on the side of a busy highway in Rochedale yesterday afternoon.
It will be alleged at around 5pm a minor traffic crash occurred outbound on the Pacific Motorway near Juliette Street between two vehicles before one of the cars sped away.
The vehicles both continued in the same direction before the occupants of the car that was struck, a 68-year-old woman and a 61-year-old man, saw the other car allegedly involved pulled over on the side of the motorway at Rochedale.
The man and woman exited their car to take photographs of the other vehicle when the alleged driver, a 40-year-old man, became abusive and assaulted the pair by kicking and attempting to bite them.
The man then fled the scene however was arrested a short time later in Rochedale South after allegedly attempting to break in to a vehicle on Algona Street.

Update 2 – Shooting incident, Currimundi

Two men have been charged with attempted murder following the alleged shooting of a man in the carpark of a Currimundi shopping centre on October 19.
On Wednesday, with the assistance of Victoria Police, a search warrant was executed on a residence in Saint Albans in relation to the incident and two men, aged 56 and 26, were taken into custody.
It will be alleged on October 19 an altercation occurred in the carpark of Currimundi Marketplace between three men.
Two men were then seen leaving the carpark in a sedan.
A short time later a 45-year-old man presented to a Battery Hill medical centre with a gunshot wound to the abdomen before being transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
The two men were extradited from Melbourne today and have since returned to Queensland with detectives from the Sunshine Coast District Criminal Investigation Branch.

Assault police charges, Bentley Park

Police have charged a man after officers were allegedly assaulted as they responded to a burglary in Bentley Park this morning.
At around 11:30am officers responded to reports of a man breaking into a property on Linmen Close.
It will be alleged when police attended the address a man assaulted a police officer, punching the male officer in the face a number of times before fleeing the scene into a neighbouring yard.
Police will further allege the man punched a police dog a number of times and spat at another officer as he was being placed into a police vehicle.
A male constable was transported to Cairns Hospital for treatment of facial injuries.
A 32-year-old Bentley Park man has been charged with one count each of serious assault of a police officer causing bodily harm, serious assault police by spitting, serious assault police, burglary and possessing tainted property.
